Always a gem
I grew up reading books by Ruskin Bond. So needless to say I am a fan of his work. This book goes into his life, what he observes while living in the mountains. Towards the end he reflects on his life, first 30 years and next 30 years. Overall an amazing read

A magical life spirit
This is a magical read. It is so honest and real. It bathed in the descriptions of trees, plants, insects, animals, places and people that were gathered and shaped so sensually by the author. Not only in the physical word, but also in the ihi and wehi (life spirit) are these tales told. Read this book if you want to rediscover or heal your inner being.

Superb Writing
one of my all time favorite authors, and this , togeether with the Lamp is Lit, are my two favorite of his books. His writing style is superb and his descriptions of the country, and the people, and the events, easily puts me in these places and situations. I reread his books at regular intervals. an never get enough of them.

Gentle and beautiful writting.
A wonderful collection of writings by the author based on his life on a Indian hill station. Refreshing as mountain air. Try it.

Read these stories as a child. Absolutely LOVED it all over again now, 35 years later.
