This stone is wonderful, buy it!
I really really enjoy this stone. Its listed as a soaking stone but you dont need to soak it, a few seconds under running water was enough. This stone is surprisingly hard but still provides fantastic feedback like you'd expect from a soaker. I hone razors and have used the Chosera 1000, Shapton pro 1500, Cerax 1000 and a Chinese 1000 along with many other stones at different grit ranges and I'd put it towards the top of the list. The Shapton 1500 is $42 and 1000 is $40, this stone is $34 and its 2x as thick. This stone will last you a very very long time.

hard, hard like bull
Thus us for sure a soaking stone. It's hard or harder than the professional series. It seems to stay flat longer than my other 1k stones. On western style kitchen knives I use this to finish floolwed by a 1k naniwa super stone. It turns out real nice.

Very nice
Bought this as a gift and it was VERY nice. Smooth, high-end stone. Took about a week to come in from Japan, but well worth the wait!

everything perfect except packaging
Its wet sharpening stone, easy to use and easy to break. Amazon didn't wrap it properly, I'm lucky my stone didn't crack.

Big, hard soaking stone.
I love this 1k, it's very hard and wear resistant for a 1k soaking stone. I've sharpened on it several times now and absolutely no dishing at all. It does load up some but I haven't noticed the stone slowing down any. It's also very smooth for a 1k, has a very nice feeling to it. A little pressure will rough up a little slurry but if your light and quick you usually won't. This stone is thicker (30mm+) than most "big" stones and wider(wider than Chosera) than most "full size" stones, great for longer kitchen knives. Leaves a nice consistent 1k scratch pattern in my opinion, and a nice sharp edge. Plenty clean and sharp enough to finish if you don't need any polishing. It'll last a lifetime+.
