Fit for a 1988 suburban not right
The pulley on a 1988 suburban 5.7 tbi is a 4 groove and this is a 5 groove, it still worked with a 4 groove belt but its not right.I find that its lacking a little bit on amps at low rpm/idle speed, but you get what you pay for, i still see a huge increase compared to oem.It has a different plug on the alternator than an oem 2prong 1988 squarebody one, so i had to buy an adapter for that as well Also it does not have the bolt hole to hold the oem bracket on the alternator properly. Its hard to find a proper oem replacement for a 1987-1992 blazer k20/30 and suburban but i was tired of hunting so i made do.

I would not recommend this brand
I bought this alternator to replace the OEM unit on my 88 Silverado C1500 that was going bad. When I installed this DB unit it seemed ok until I started turning on accessories and stepped on the brake. The head lights just dimmed right down. I thought maybe there was a problem with the alternator so I sent it back and got a replacement except it did the same thing. I eventually sent the second one back and decided to spend the extra money and go with a Powermaster. With the Powermaster alternator I can turn on every accessory in the vehicle including the air conditioning, step on the brakes and the lights barely dim.Powermaster, you will not be disappointed 😁

Quality in that it works
I put this in my 1989 Winnebago super Chief which has a Chevy p30 chassis with a 454 engine which is carbureted bolts right up no modifications tends to charge it about 14 volts quality seams like brand new time will only tell as to performance this is charging three batteries in the RV one starter battery and two house batteries.
