Great rope, great price
Bought this to repair my cat's scratching post, which had been shredded beyond usefulness. The rope was the right size and texture, and now she loves to scratch at it again. Great rope, great price.

High Quality Manila Rope
This is good, strong rope. It worked perfect for my purpose of re-covering 3 inch diameter tubes for cats to scratch their claws on. The price was a little higher than the big box store, but the quality was a little better as well.

Booo, this rope is $#!%. I was hoping for a much higher grade to do both sailor braiding (macramé) and also shibari. This wouldn't hold up to proper treatment for softening, such as boiling, etc. It's very rough hewn, and stringy, with lots of loose fibers that stick out. They should mark this as some sort of rough grade.

Not for practicing the sailor's craft.
This rope is made from uneven, short, and relatively dry, brittle fibers. My purpose was to practice sailor's "arts and crafts," splices, decorative knots, 19th century sailor's rope and canvas projects, etc. Many such projects require "unlaying" the rope, parting the twisted strands and tucking or "weaving" the strands back into the body of the rope, an eye-splice for example. This rope "shed" broken fibers at every turn, leaving the work area covered in "rope hair." The less than "Grade 1" fibers are almost "barky," resulting in the various splices, etc finishing up uneven and irregular in appearance. The price is fair and the packaging, (50' coil) convenient but the quality not there for my purposes. My fault I suppose, "silk purse from a sow's ear" and all that. It is OK, however, for learning how to tie various knots.

brown rope
Its brown manila fiber rope, just like the listing says. How the hell are you supposed to give a good review to that? Yes, its everything I ever wanted in a rope -- brown fiber, fifty feet long! WOW, what a rope! This review process is so stupid, I think I'll just send the emails to the trash from now on.

Great Rope!
The rope is excellent quality and delivered in perfect time. We have a wooden post that separates the kitchen from the family room that our cat likes to scratch her claws on. We wound the rope tightly around this post. It has become the perfect scratching post and looks nice too.

Worked fine for my project.
The only complaint I have is that one of the three strands of this rope seemed to be consistantly smaller than the other two. Makes me wonder if Wellington markets their seconds through Amazon. That said, the price was right and the rope worked fine for my project. I am happy with it.

works great
Good to work with and it sticks well when used with a glue gun. Nicely rolled up and did not fray.
