Here's what you want to use for smaller calibers from 0.17 to 0.25 inch bore - the Otis 2 inch patch. Yes, this also includes the AR-15 bore in 0.223 or 5.56 mm. These bores are smaller than 0.25 inch. Use the 2 inch patch to clean them. Oh, I need to buy 2 different size patches? Yes, you do. But, they don't cost much and you can use each patch 6 times.
