Taylor Dial Style 70-Pound Industrial Hanging Scale

I like it... very sturdy and well built. Heavy metal housing looks like it should last a lifetime. I'm using it to measure longbow draw weight during building them, so I'm going to have to modify the way it hooks to a bow string, and also make a pull handle for the bottom side to make it work better for what I'm using it for.Worth the money.

Packaging is less than desirable. I'm kinda surprised it made it in one piece. A thin box was ripped and wrapped in a plastic envelope. No padding whatsoever. In several reviews, folks did not receive their hooks I am one of the lucky ones that received both hooks. Nice heavy-duty ones that work very nicely. The scale is heavy and well made. Plastic front with metal body. To check how accurate it is I used two kitchen scales that are very much on the money and this scale fell right into line with the other two I own. With that being said I totally trust it. I will compare it every once in a while to be sure it stays accurate. It was purchased to measure hay and other feed so we will see how durable it is as time go by.......

I bought this scale to weigh feed and it seems very well made for that purpose. The casing is metal including the back and sports an even finish of what appears to be textured enamel or some similar treatment. The scale face is protected by a hard plastic lens which looks to be somewhat scratch resistant although I'll try not to test that feature. The face is approximately 6 3/4 inches in diameter with the longest dimension of the scale sans hooks measuring in a bit over 9 inches; not a pocket scale by any means but a good size to leave up in the grain room. No one will need to squint too hard to read the numbers. The S hooks are a bit too open for my liking so I replaced the top hook with a weight appropriate caribiner to minimize the chance of dropping the mechanism. The very legible dial with no strange increments along with the tare feature gives me some peace of mind that everyone using the scale will get the same results. Yes, I would prefer that it were made in the USA but it seems very good quality for the price especially if it holds up well under long term use. Also, hats off to the seller who shipped this blanzingly fast.

This scale is just what I needed to weigh hay for my horses. I didn't want a digital scale and mess with batteries out in the freezing winter weather. This scale is as described, large enough and easy to read, weighs in increments perfect for hay and is durable.

Listing is exactly correct, model # matches the Taylor USA website, dimensions are listed, so no surprises.However it must be noted that this scale is 'Made in China'... This was a surprise. I specifically went with this hanging scale in the understanding that it was made in the U.S.A., apparently not all Taylor USA weight management products are made in America. :(That being said, it is still of the quality one expects from Taylor USA. Period. It is of a heavy duty steel housing with a robust plastic face. The provided S-hoops are equally heavy duty, more than capable of supporting anything under 70 lbs (32kg)!I have used this product almost daily between weighing firearm builds, shipping products, luggage & other random gear with zero issues. It has been cross checked with a few digital scales and is equally as accurate and repeatable. This fine mechanical scale will serve me for many years to come!Would I recommend this product to others, Yes! without a second thought.***And for the reviewer that this awesome hanging scale "broke after a few weeks of use", as long as it wasn't abused with trying to weigh 100 lb bales, Taylor will resolve a defective unit that broke weighing something as light as 14 pounds... Even for a precision mechanical scale at the meager price of 35 USD...It must be noted that as with most weight management devices such as this hanging scale, the load must be placed for weighing, not thrown, dropped or forced to weight or damage will occur. Works great! Love that it's not digital. We use this to weigh out animals feed. Just what we needed.

I used this scale right out of the box and adjusted to 0 with my electronic scale and it was accurate right out of the box. Very durable.Always purchase a scale that will measure 25-75% of your typical loads. This ensures maximum accuracy.

I thought it would hold up better if dropped.

Numbers were big and easy to read. Quality is good. Use it to weigh out feed for 4-H calves and it does the job
