Another worthy addition to this excellent series
Kentucky represents the fifth book I have in the Bucket List Adventure Guide series. In-keeping with the others, there’s a great variety of things to do, although it tends to lean towards more outdoorsy sorts of things. Unsurprisingly then, Kentucky’s many waterfalls, lakes, trails and caves are strongly represented, including Mammoth Cave National Park, which is home to the World’s largest known cave system.Other places of interest covered include a host of unusual museums, including the first restaurant owned by Colonel Sanders (as he would become) and a farm that’s a retirement home for racehorses. The inclusion of GPS coordinates is a huge plus, especially for the more obscure or out-of-the-way sites (although the minus in front of each west coordinate should be ignored). I particularly like the ‘Did you know?’ feature rounding off each location. As with the rest of the series, the occasional bit of copy editing wouldn’t go astray (for example, the Proper Planning section suggests your first aid kit include “Small Ziplock bags containing contaminated trash”). I also feel the books would be improved by the inclusion of some illustrations/photos and a map for each area. All in all, this book is a useful source of information for things to do in Kentucky. It’s certainly added a bunch of stuff to my wish list for the next time I’m in the Bluegrass State.

A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words
Since my husband and I retired to North Carolina, we are always looking to discover new places to visit in the South. These Bucket List Adventure Guides are handy for people like us who seek the offbeat and the outdoors. This particular guide to Kentucky has everything that travelers might want: GPS coordinates, nearest towns, fees charged, as well as just enough detail concerning each recreational area, museum, or historical sight described. The only thing missing is a photograph for each which would, as the saying goes, be worth a thousand words.

Comprehensive Guide
This little book covers a lot of ground in Kentucky. As a native Kentuckian, I saw a lot of familiar places but also a lot of places I was unaware of and would love to visit. Besides telling about the locations to visit there are directions on how to get there and what you will experience while there. I'm happy to have this book to put to use for my next weekend adventure!

Does what it claims
This book does what it claims, providing the reader with numerous areas of interest in the state of Kentucky. I'm planning to visit there soon and will definitely use this as a reference. Each location gets a descriptive paragraph along with a quick key of basic information including things like best times to visit, fees, and even GPS coordinates. It would have benefited from some photos, but all in all it's a good reference for anyone interested in visiting the state.

Excellent adventure guide to scenic wonders of the Bluegrass State
Felt like I had a refreshing vacation in Kentucky while reading this guide book. Discovered several places of interest while harvesting fresh information about historical and scenic places to enjoy. The detailed info about each of the natural or historic sites is beneficial for any visitor. Very well written..

Confusing organization
The guide does contain a list of interesting places to visit in Kentucky. But it lacks maps. It would be helpful if the guide contained a map of Kentucky showing the locations of each of the places described in the guide. Also it would be helpful if, next to each of the destinations, there was a small map of the state with a star showing the location of that destination.
