How thick is one sides internal space and is the overhang on the inside accessible to add magnets?

its a very small space. There is no room for magnets, but the case snaps closed so no need for magnets anyway

Can you somehow expand this?

Yes. If you have your own foam you could cut it out so that you could fit up to 5 on each side for 10 total I think

How well does this hold the games?

Its holds them really well. It has slightly smaller then game card holes in it that hold them tight. Right now i have all the Pokemon games on the Switch so far in it.

Can you remove the foam insert and convert this to a business card holder?

I posted a comment where I did essentially that but with my bank cards and drivers license.
