The short version. The product looks outstanding. The pad that slides on the handle is very convenient. Being fiberglass is a plus. The finish is outstanding. And it fits in the trunk of my Honda. My only advice is when you extend it.... Don't fully extend any of the links. Get close to the end, but leave a little of the tube still inside the bigger tube. . That way the pressure is on the tube and not at the end of the joint. When fully extended there can be some weight at the end. I made the mistake of putting too much pressure on the Pole's connectors and had one crack, but (see below)Update!So I left my original review and the seller saw what I had written and sent me a brand new one, no questions asked. Customer service was awesome and the company is A+! Not many companies would do that. I will definitely buy from them again. They are willing to back up their products, even after the Amazon return window has closed. I can't speak for what they would do for anyone else, but I will say that this is good business.

I purchased this after putting my boat up for the winter. Deploying and stowing the hook is easy and seems to hold well.

I love the size of this telescoping boat hook. It retracts to a manageable size so that it easily stores by the helm station. I actually used it for the first time yesterday. It is long enough to easily reach the dock lines. The only issue I had with it was when I was pushing away from the pier to be able to get the dock line on the other side of boat. It collapsed. The problem could with me not tightening it enough. The padded handle and loop on the end are a thoughtful addition.

Not the best skipper on the planet so when I come flying into the dock at warp. This handy device makes docking muck easier.

im using them for a project here at amazon, im changing out all the old reach tools for these, there light weight and sturdy. and they give my AAs an extra reach capabilities, plus give them more space to avoid getting hit by a falling box .now just need 100 more.

I dislike I can’t use this because the hook part broke off and now it is useless. Well the telescoping part still works :/

Very handy. I like to tie up to stumps and fallen trees with the boat and this let's reach out to grab it a little easier

I used this bad boy the day it came in and easily tackled half the items on my to-do list. We strung Christmas lights up high in a tree, cleaned the exterior vents on the second story of our house, and cleaned out some exterior nooks that were hard to reach. All this to say, I know it's a boat hook, but it's literally a multi-purpose tool Enjoy!

On the first use and first pull (not push), the hook broke. Unfortunately, it is now simply a long telescopic stick. Not sure if there any warranty on this item.
