So yummy!
I needed something that didn’t have dairy and hazelnut. This was the one and love it so much! It does get pretty hard, so it is helpful to warm it up a little to make it easier to spread, but the taste is amazing!

Doesn't fulfill that Peanut Butter hole in my heart.
We haven't had peanut butter in the house for ages having an allergy in the house. I like to try all the alternatives. The best one ever used to be Sneaky Chef for taste and texture, unfortunately they changed the recipe and the factory a while ago (a peanut butter alternative in a factory that produces peanut butter? Really?) and the creator is some kind of litigious weirdo. That one was based on chickpeas. So when I saw this one, I got my hopes up.Unfortunately, this one just tastes like chickpeas. There's practically no taste as you're eating it. Then the aftertaste hits you. JUST chickpeas... and it lasts and lasts. Just sitting there, lingering in your mouth like you just drank an entire hummus shake. If you like chickpeas, this may be your thing but a peanut butter replacement this is NOT. I guess we'll just keep keeping on with Sunbutter.

Not butter
I bought this out of concern for peanut allergies. The ingredients made it safe to used for a project with preschool children. I opened the jar and it smelled delicious. The texture was smooth enough to cling on to the bird feeder. I loved that it was versatile enough to use on the project and eat with apple slices. It is in a much higher price range than regular peanut butter and the jar is much smaller.

It's a bit odd.
I do not have a peanut allergy; I eat peanut butter all the time. I enjoy eating a wide variety of nut and seed butters and often have peanut, almond, sunflower, soy, cashew, and tahini all in my house at the same time. I have recently begun trying chickpea butters. One that I tried was mixed with sunflower seeds, so it wasn't a true chickpea butter. Another one that was all chickpeas, which I really liked, recently went out of stock. So, I tried PeaNOT.As soon as I opened the jar, I noticed the thick, perfectly smooth consistency. (If you ever it Biscoff spread, the texture is a lot like that.) However, once I began eating it, the taste was really unlike chickpeas. I eat hummus and another brand of chickpea butter pretty frequently, and I also bake with chickpea flour. PeaNOT does not taste like any of that. In fact, it kind of tastes like green peas (English peas). It definitely doesn't taste like peanuts, but if you can't have peanuts and you like this stuff - go for it!

Bad taste lingers and gets worse
The texture is the only thing close in this peanut butter alternative. The taste is hard to describe and lingers in your mouth and just gets worse and worse. Like a bad green vegetable. This is solely my personal opinion and others may like it, but this definitely was not for me and one that I did not care for.

Allergy Friendly
Let me first be transparent in stating that I have not voluntarily consumed peanuts since July 2016. Prior to realizing that this malicious legume was destroying my insides, I was a spoon and jar peanut butter eater.I was elated by the idea of a copycat spread free of deadly effects.Smell: like fresh, wet earth with a hint of greenTexture: pleasant mouthfeel, not too stickyTaste: salted peanut shellsThis spread took my tastebuds back to a simpler, younger time in my life when I was too lazy to shell the peanuts and instead crunched away at the entire legume. (If they’re going to salt the outside is must mean I should eat it right?) My brain started to panic at this core memory and I think that speaks to the accuracy of the flavor profile of this spread.I gave some to my peanut butter eating toddler who reported back “yum”, so I’m guessing that this spread is virtually identical to the foul legume spread she has the ability to easily digest.Four out of five stars because I am searching for something sweeter and creamier (and it smells like fresh, wet earth).

My kids love it for school- even my picky middle child
My kids are gluten and dairy free but their school is nut free, so we haven’t found a substitute for hazelnut spread for the last two years… until now. Even my picky kid loves it (thank goodness because she refuses leftovers in her lunchbox). We took it to a birthday party today where the host set up an ice cream bar and all the other kids kept taking scoops to top their ice cream. Don’t tell those half dozen kindergarteners that this is made of chickpea. They’d never believe you! The texture totally work and the flavor is spot on. Here’s to a great new school year!

A valiant effort but...
I find it flavorless compared to regular peanut butter. Work on the flavor team, and I'll try it again.
