Microsoft Encarta College Dictionary: The First Dictionary For The Internet Age Hardcover – July 13, 2001

The only dictionary I’ll be using during this lifetime.

Beautiful condition!!! I sanitized it when I got it, but overall it came very clean. A few scuff marks under main sleeve, but the inside and all pages, looked like new!!! No marks, writing or highlighted areas. Love this dictionary!!! Fabulous definitions and derivation. Great for any study.

My favroite dictionary. Not only does it give thorough definitions, it also gives historical info along with the words. My favroite was under the definition of Nigera (but without the "a" at the end). I wish I had it with me so I could take a picture of it, but it basically said something to the effect of, the people who use that word are revealing their own ignorance, instead of their intended target. It was so SPOT ON! Those little contextual/historical insights are next to the word but enclosed in boxes, if I remember correctly (i may be wrong, but I think that's what I recall). It's been years though, but I was so impressed with this feature and the fact that every single word I looked up (which NEVER ended there, this unique version just DrAws you IN!) instilled a hunger for more of what these pages had to offer! You will find yourself straining to remember the words you had been wanting to look up and finding new insight into words you had thought you knew! I'd be willing to bet money that this is a common theme with this dictionary!I need to go to my moms house and find this treasure! I cant even believe I left it there in the 1st place. Maybe she stole it from me, since it's just THAT GOOD! :D

I love this dictionary, it is very thorough, it guides you with the right definitions, it has the origin of the words and has a guide for pronunciation. I am happy that I found it available because unfortunately it was discontinued. It’s a very useful tool to understand words and their meanings.

I wanted a 2001 edition or earlier and that was in the photo and that is what I got. I use it to get proper definitions of words and especially technical definitions.

I've always loved this dictionary. I recommend it to anyone. Clear, concise definitions and derivations. A great addition to anyone's library.
