Does this Dig sprinkler timer hold up over time? (for anyone who has had this time for over a year)

Should I use teflon tape on the threads when installing?

Now I always used a bit of teflon tape; you do not have too and I didn't use it on my first ones but it does make removal easier and it can help seal especially of the pipes are older. I would say it is optional.
