If your scanner has a console port ,it can connect the usb to a computer

Q: why are reviews saying usb 3 doesn't work usb3 is backwards compatible ?

USB 3.0 can work, but it can't reach USB 3.0 The transmission speed of 0, is only USB2 Speed of 0.

Q: Will this work on a eero router and a Dell laptop?

You should always look at the routers specs. Routers usually have 1 or more Rj45 port(s) then it should work, but there may be something on the router you'll have to configure to allow network connectivity. If your laptop has a usb port it should work. Hope that helps.
