Which companies does it scan DATAMARS?

Yes. Datamars is a company that sells 15-digit ISO 11784 / 11785 134.2 kHz microchips for implanting in pets (see http://www.datamars.com/products/companion-animal-id/). The Universal WorldScan does read ISO chips (see http://www.destronfearing.com/documents/Companion%20Animal/Global%20Pocket%20Reader%20Product%20Overview%20English.pdf). I had my cats implanted with ISO chips from Datamars while in India, and the Universal WorldScan read them no problem.

This scanner, can read Avid encrypted and all the FDX-B microchips?

Yes. Scanner can read (9-digit) AVID encrypted chips. I used the scanner on the AVID chips in my cats from Hong Kong - no problem.The Scanner can also read 15-digit ISO 11784 / 11785 chips, FDX-B is a subset of this standard. I used the scanner on the Datamars ISO chips implanted into my cats while in India - again no problem.

Does this read the old Standard Avid microchip with 9-digits?

Yes it does my animals are Avid 9-digits and it reads all of them.

What kind of battery we need to use it for this scanner? Does it work in India?

The scanner uses AAA batteries.It works in any location as it is hand-held and battery powered, so entirely portable. Being an electronic device, probably not 100% weather (Monsoon!) proof though!Maybe the real question you meant to ask is whether it can read the microchips typically implanted in animals in India? I lived in India, and had my cats implanted with microchips there, where it seemed standard for vets to use ISO chips. ISO chips are readable by the Universal WorldScan. The scanner also reads AVID chips - my cats have those too, from Hong Kong. I used this scanner at my home in India to confirm it could read their ISO chips and their AVID chips - worked no problem.
