Reliable Compost Bags for Countertop Food Scraps
Since my area started requiring organic food scraps to go into the green waste bin, I've been using these bags inside a tabletop container, and they've worked really well right from the start. Even though this was the first product like this I tried, I've already gone through several boxes because they perform reliably. They hold up well – no tearing in the wrong places – and they fit my countertop trash container nicely without falling apart or slipping down. I appreciate that they can stretch a bit when needed and tie securely at the top. Being compostable is essential, of course. I like thinking that they offer a clean, neutral way of keeping the food scraps contained until it's time to transfer them to the main green waste bin for collection. Really happy with this product; I buy it now and will continue to do so.

Really Handy!
These are extremely handy for disposing smaller or really messy or smelly organic items that might cause an otherwise lined compost bin to reek or get really messy by the time its emptied out by sanitation workers. (Our compostable trash is collected only once a week.) And they're very easy to access. The box is barely larger than a cube tissue box, yet it contains 150 1.2 gallon size bags. Nice.

It's workable.
I use these bags to collect food scraps for my compost bin. Taking the bag to our composter outside, it drips and it doesn't take much to make a hole in it. I'm careful to be sure coffee grounds are cool before putting in the bag. The bag does fall apart easier than I desire, but that means it's compostable. I put the bag in our city compost bin after emptying contents in my smaller yard composter.

Useful, keeps indoor compost bin clean
I enjoy these as a liner to my indoor compost collection bin. (When it is full, I do remove the bag and take it outside to my bigger compost pile or in a 5-gallon bucket for bokashi. It keeps my indoor compost bin clean, saving me from the headache of cleaning it out frequently. So long as you don't over-pack it or leave it past 3 days with watery like substances, it is unlikely to rip on you whilst taking it out back. Worth it if I can compost it at home, not having to find a local drop-off point with extra waste and poor smells / liquids post-dump.As I have read, it is recommended to use bokashi just for the home-compostable bags as to avoid large chunks in finished compost product. I recently started composting (March 2025 - composting, April 2025 - time of review), so I haven't had much composting experience with it so far.

Perfect size for my kitchen bins for the new NYC compost collection mandate. Bags are easy to dispense. No problem so far.

Durable and Perfect Fit for Countertop Bins
Surprisingly strong for compostable bags! I use them with a 1.3-gallon bin, and they fit perfectly—with just the right amount of overhang to roll over the edge and stay securely in place. No slipping, no leaks, no mess. They've held up well even with heavier food scraps. Highly recommend for anyone using a small kitchen compost bin.

Strong bags
Very strong bags. Strong enough to hold melon rinds without tearing. I would definitely recommend these bags.

NOT compostable in a landfill or yard
their advertising is very misleading because it is only compostable at a commercial facility. There are no commercial facilities available in Albuquerque, New Mexico and I doubt they want to recycle that bag full of cat poop. I will no longer buy because I cannot compost it via the landfill. They need to be a little more transparent with what it takes to compost their bags.
