Contents of the 2-4 ft kit
I originally bought the 6-10 ft extension, loved it, and wanted a bit more pieces but couldn’t buy them separately. The 2-4 ft kit was only $75 so I took I chance I could scavenge it for pieces.I looked everywhere for a list of what pieces are in the 2-4ft and couldn’t find it anywhere— so for those also wondering—2 shelves, 6 small (25 in) uprights, 4 upright connectors, 2 x 26” hang bars, 4 hooks for hang bars, 4 locking brackets and then assorted hardware. As of the time of this posting the pictures without any clothes on them are the ones you could make with this kit and no extra pieces/add-ons.I love the Rubbermaid fast track closet—I turned a bedroom into a dressing room, used the 6-10 ft + 2-4 ft + 4 sliding drawers and have the closet of my dreams. My husband hung it for me and indicated it was easy—I’m not terribly comfortable around tools so I will say it would have been harder for me to do. As some reviews mention, you do have to be pretty exact in your measurements but the directions are specific.

Doesn't Fit a 2 Ft Closet!
The Rubbermaid ads are misleading " expandable 2-4 ft. closet shelf kit." I bought the kit for a closet that was just over 2 ft. wide. However, the shelves measured almost 26" and the hanging bar, with endcaps, measured nearly 28". Fortunately, I own a hacksaw and was able to trim the shelves and metal hanging bar. And though I generally like Rubbermaid products, I was disappointed that this kit did not measure up as advertised.

Perfect for an Oddly Shaped Closet
We wanted to add more efficient storage to a corner closet in a bedroom. The depth on either side of the closet is only 11.5” and 13.5” so we needed something without a lot of depth. We purchased two Rubbermaid Closet Kits (the 4-6 ft. and 2-4 ft. kits) and combined most of the pieces to create this configuration. The previous configuration had a clothing rod (not pictured) spanning in front of the corner shelves making them very difficult to get to. The new configuration is completely open and I made sure to connect the shelves in the corners for maximum space. One important feature to note is that there are A shelves and B shelves. The B shelves can overlap the A shelves, then they are locked into place with sliding locks that are built into the top of the brackets. This means NO CUTTING if the shelves don’t match the measurements needed. I used tiny clear zip ties to secure the shelves to each other where they met in the corners, though they weren’t absolutely necessary. The far left side is intended for longer dresses/pants and we may add other accessories like drawers or shoe racks if we find that we can spare the clothing space. These were easy to install, the instructions were very clear, and I completed the job in a short amount of time. They are sturdy and attractive. We’re very happy we purchased these!

Deceiving photo
The first image of the product shows 4 shelves and a hanging bar. The product only comes with 2 shelves and a hanging bar. Nowhere in the description does it say how many shelves it comes with so you have to buy it in order to find out. Also if you order the sliding drawer to add to it, it is substantially shorter in length and is much wider and sticks out 6 inches more than the shelving.

Product should match picture
I have purchased and installed many, many Rubbermade closet organizers - usually the Homefree/Configurations series. Just purchased two more, for daughter's new home. Also purchased two adjustable closet kits for her home, for two small closets. The pictures for those 2'-4' kits show three shelves, in a lateral set up. There is also a picture of three uprights, side by side. The write up states 2 shelves and 6 uprights are in the kits. The kit has only two shelves and two sets of connectors. Not possible to set up according to the picture. Couldn't find any place to purchase connectors, like I used to. Every other Rubbermade product I've purchased has been a 5-Star. This would be, if the picture was correct.
