Was shipped without an owners manual or oil
I contacted Amazon to request a manual. They gave me contact information for Craftsman. After three attempts to get the manual from Craftsman, they finally sent me a digital manual. I requested a printed version, but was told it was $25! Really, for something that they failed to put in the box? The digital version they sent has at least 12 manuals, some are 78 pages. I will try to figure out which one I need to print but the numbers are not model numbers, they are part numbers because even though this is a Craftsman, it's the same as several other manufacturers. The only complaint that I have about the edger is that it doesn't have an adjustable handle. I'm 5'7" and the handle is way too high which makes it difficult to maneuver.

instructions
There was no assembly instructions or user manual! Very disappointing! When Craftsman was sold by Sears there was always loads of information with product

Very Poor Instructions
No visual or written instructions to determin where some uninstalled components or how to. Could not determin the proper routing for the uninstalled blade hieght cable. I had no idea what model I have to determine start procedures, Model number on edger does not match anything in instructions. On the pro side. Starts first pull. Almost pulls itself along, love the blade height adjustment and that it tilts for doing street curbing easily.

Was not properly assembled. Really bad instructions.
When I got this thing it was only partially assembled. That would have been ok if the instructions had been at least halfway decent. There was a loose wire on the bottom of the box. I could not tell if the wire went this way or that from the instructions. I have never seen such bad, mixed-up instructions in my life. It tried to show things on some 4 or 5 models all at the same time. What a mixed-up mess.Further, there was a loose nut, a large one, just sitting on the bottom of the box. I looked for a LONG time, but couldn't find where it went. I started the machine up and it promptly proceeded to self-destruct. The nut was supposed to secure a partially hidden and oddly designed set of pullies for the fan belt. It was NOT obvious that there was a nut missing from the assembly. The pulley assembly was damaged a bit, but not so much that I couldn't work with it. The belt, however, was destroyed. There were NO instruction on what size or kind of belt would be needed as a replacement. Further, it was a real Bi*ch to manage to get the belt on. If it had not been for a UTube video showing me how to use large compression clamps to compress the spring on the blade arm I never would have gotten it on. Too tight. I almost wasn't able to get it on even when shown some VERY odd procedure using the large clamps to compress the spring.I have never had so much trouble getting a small engine to start. If you had to stop and then restart the engine it was hell to restart. Unfortunately, I had to stop it and restart it, after about a 10 minute wait, quite often. The shroud over the blade is too narrow. About every 5 to 10 minutes I had to stop the machine and clear out dirt and grass that had stopped the blade from turning, causing undue friction wear on the fan belt. It is so narrow that I had to use a screwdriver to pry the dirt and grass out. Then, it was hell to start, again. All in all, this is the worst Craftsman product I have ever seen. So much so that I looked it up on the internet. It wasn't made BY Craftsman at all.

Very pleased.
I bought this one as it is virtually identical to my old troybilt edger ( which lasted 12 years). 3 pumps on the primer and starts on the first pull. It actually runs smoother and quieter than the old one. I see no reason why it won't last as king as the one it replaced.

Works well!
I have almost 600 feet of sidewalks and a double driveway(Duplex) and even in dry conditions it has plenty of power.
