As good as original
The suction cup on mine dried out and wouldn't stick to windshield. This item was a little expensive for what it is but it's cheaper than replacing the Tom Tom unit. Just a good as original.

2014 Fiat 500E Alternate GPS Mounting Location using Windshield Suction Mount
I needed a mount to replace the stock "plug into the dash top" for the 2014 FIAT 500e (total electric) car. That mount almost totally obscures vision between the lower 12:30-1:00 positions! I would venture to say some drivers may have NOT seen a car hiding behind the GPS, and plowed into it. That design was a very poor and potentially dangerous concept. This mount does not exactly fit the FIAT Tomtom model 4CS03 GPS unit so I made some changes. The electrical connection works once the mount inside back and bottom are ground away enough to allow the GPS unit to slide in and down far enough to make good contact and the magnet to "clamp" to the unit securely. That required using a Dremel tool with smaller bits to remove enough plastic material, and then smoothing with small files. It fit almost mostly perfectly after making those modifications. I mounted this unit up high on the tall windshield of the Fiat, between the rear-view mirror and the right sun visor. The power wiring was run above the right sun visor, down between the windshield post and the plastic molding, then along the dash top and right-hand post molding bottom. The Fiat 500e has a 3.5mm 12-volt power connector and USB connection in the left-hand side of the glove box. The USB port is fine for aux. audio to input to the stock radio. However it does not supply enough amperage to properly power the GPS unit, so I ran the wiring under the glove box, and routed it around the right-side of the console to the plug-in cigarette lighter power connector. I used a two USB port plug to power the unit, and still leave one USB port available. This installation works great and the wiring is practically invisible. At some point I may mount a "full 12-volt" power connection either in the glove box or under the dash. This is the mounting style I prefer on automobiles without a built-in navigation and/or SiriusXM radio system. You are always checking the rear view mirror, so the GPS mounted right next to the mirror and high enough to not block vision is a perfect solution for me.
