The umbrellla came with a cover which is a nice feature. I mounted it directly to the deck with 5" timber screws. The deck boards are 2" x 6". Two of the screws go through the deck board into the joist. The other 2 screws go through the deck board and into a 3" x 5" pressure treated lumber secured to the framing of the deck. The deck is 11 1/2' x 22 1/2'. The umbrella when open is a little tall and hits the rain gutter. I attached a line to the umbrella and pulled it down a couple of inches from the gutter. I stow the umbrella every night or if a high wind situation would arise. I haven't used it in the rain so I can't attest to how waterproof/resistant it is. Overall at this time I would recommend purchasing this umbrella only time will tell.

I love this. I bought it to reduce the number of acorns and debris that fall into my pool and being able to tilt it slightly helps so much. If you're looking for a sturdy and less conspicuous based that can meet the 200+ pound requirement need, try the Rhinobase. It's half the size of the others out there and much easier to fill and so far has held this very large umbrella up nicely even in the wind.

Had issues putting it on our deck. Would have been perfect had the base not needed so much room. And because of how it tilt we couldn’t get it to block the sun the way we wanted. Slow on return as well!!

This is a beautiful umbrella and very well-built. It's quality material and seems to be very durable. Took two people to assemble but it was an easy assembly as well.

Our pool has a flat roof lanai. I asked the seller the height measurements of the main pole. Unfortunately it was too tall by one inch and it couldn’t be opened even if it did fit. Fortunately we have a summer house in MA where we will use on our outside patio, then I can give it a fair revue

Although pictured a Sunbrella does not include a base. You can’t even put it together without the base unless someone is standing on it. Now I have to buy an $80 base on top of it. It’s completely useless without the base. It does say this in the description that really should not be in the picture if it doesn’t come with it. Very disappointed. I would return it but it’s impossible to get it back in the box to ship it back.

Definitely a great way to get some shade if you don’t have money to build a proper one. Will not work without buying the base. Can get unstable in the wind if you don’t tie down the leading edges.
