Look no further!
Sorry, I'm going to sound like an infomercial, but these light poles were beyond anything we could have expected. First of all, the matte-black coating is really classy and looks great with the lights, without distracting from the wedding setting. Secondly, these poles are REALLY sturdy and strong. Each pole is four pieces, and very easy to slide together. We opted to use three poles (8 feet) then four poles (10 feet) and so on, to provide an up and down swing to the lights.Something I couldn't find when first looking at these on Amazon was how to determine how far apart these poles should/could be. We opted for 16 feet, and even with heavy-weight FEIT outdoor lights (from Costco), the poles stood straight in the ground. Another great things about these poles is how easily they twisted into the grass. Though the corkscrew spike at the end of each piece is only about 7 inches long, it paves the way (with the help of an included turning rod) for the pole to continue driving into the ground. We opted to drive the poles in about 18 inches. Again, this was very easy to do.The only adjustment we'll have to make is to zip tie the string light to the top of the pole, so the light string won't slip down. This adjustment, however, will only make the poles more stable. This is a sturdy, strong, well-made, coated metal pole, and you'll be delighted with it!

Highly recommend
These posts are well designed, easy to put together and very easy to put into the ground. I was concerned that these would be a bit of work to get far enough into the ground to be sturdy, but was pleasantly surprised how easy it was. I bought six posts to put around the perimeter of our pool to string lights. I ended up putting them 2.5 feet into the ground and it was very easy due to the sharp design. These are very strong and sturdy and have withstood a couple of storms with high winds without a problem. The only suggestion I would make is I'd like to see is the other sections of the pole have threaded holes so that the other sections would be even more sturdy instead of just pushing together. But, as is, these really do the trick and I was able to assemble and install all six posts in about 30 minutes.

You only get 1
So, I read and read and double checked, and I’m certain when I purchased it was for two poles. However, when I returned to the description having only received one, it said one, so I’ll leave it at that.Needing two poles I got creative to make it work. *** do not attach the poles together before knowing exactly what you want to do with them because they will not separate back apart, at least mine would not. They are super tall, much taller than I needed, so I decided to use one pole to make two… I went to the store and bought pipe clamps to attack one section with the hook end to my fence (I read that the hardware to attach/secure was included, but I did not receive anything other than one pole and instructions). I then used the remaining lengths and inserted into ground; I attached some type of piping part (in plumbing isle) with glue to the top of the remaining lengths of poles to hold the lights on it (as I used the the top piece on my fence). Sorry, I do not know the specific names of pieces, I just hunted for items that would work in the hardware store).Soooo… one pole/post, strong/functional, NO hanging hardware, super tall, can make into 2 if patient and creative. It was the least expensive pole I found, but actually not after discovering it was the price for one post. I spent an additional $5-$6 on additional pieces to make it meet my needs. However, if you only need one pole, it’ll do… if you need two, spend an extra ~ $20 and get two poles and the hardware and save yourself the frustration. Lol I chose my route because I hate the hassle returning Amazon items more. I removed a star because it didn’t have hardware, but did have instructions lol (it’s pretty self-explanatory). Not removing any stars because I may have made a mistake believing I was getting two poles, smh.

Strong and stable
Had to return a cheaper product because the poles were easily damaged and could not hold heavier lights. These poles are easy to screw into the ground and are made of good quality steel.

All Poles are Not Created Equal
If you are looking for a pole to string patio lights, this is the one to get. It has a screw auger that you rotate into the ground (with tool provided). I put mine about 27" into the soil and am amazed at how sturdy it is. My patio lights are especially heavy, so I added a guy wire to the end pole to keep it from bending with the weight of the lights. I can see that if you have a light weight string of lights, you would not need to do this. BTW, I bought this product listed as "used" for a discount and it was in "new" condition. Highly recommended.

They were very easy to install and take back down when I was done with the BBQ.
The media could not be loaded. I needed something to hang some string lights around outside for a BBQ and these did the job! They were very easy to install and take back down when I was done with the BBQ. These were super easy to put together and put in the ground. They’re very sturdy and I did not have any issues with them. When I use them I get a lot of compliments on them!

Sturdy and easy to install.
I’ve had these up for 2 months now and they’ve handled some pretty nasty storms with ease. I previously had my lights along the fence, where they would constantly get chewed up by squirrels as they hopped along. Squirrels can’t climb these poles-problem solved.

Don't do it!
These were junk. I'm super disappointed with these. They aren't made well at all. We attempted to used the stakes, one broke in the ground. And Amazon employee was able to help us get a new one of those but these don't stay up, they lean with a slightest pull of the lights and they look like they're gonna snap in half. We have them tied from the top going in 4 directions to keep them upright, if I hadn't promised my daughter they'd be up for her 16th birthday, I'd take them down and attempt to return them. Don't waste your money!
