Boieo Ikebana Kenzan Flower Frog Round, 2.4"

I intended to use this as my backup kenzan, with my primary larger one purchased directly from my ikebana instructor. This kenzan ended up to be the perfect size for a couple of vintage brass ikebana vases that I have. I’ve used it once already for a Chinese New Year arrangement and it was able to hold up a tall 3 ft tall, 2” diameter, bamboo branch that was placed slightly offside, along with other branches and flowers, in a plain ceramic vase.

I have lots of big ideas about how my flower arrangements should look, and they generally never live up to my expectations. These flower frogs (who decided on that name? Frog? A flat circle with spikes?) help me make my floral arrangements, such as they are, a little less tragic. They are decently heavy, and although I've only had them for a couple of months, seems to handle immersion in highly-chlorinated Seattle-area water well enough.

I have 2 of these kenzans and they tip over very easily. In one arrangement I have 2 peonies slanted at about 45 degrees, a hydrangea bunch low and on the other side of the kenzan, and a few light greens. Given that I carefully balanced the 2 sides, the kenzan should stay put. But it doesn't. It slips and slides right to left and back to front. Perhaps I need a bigger kenzan, but this 2.5" size seems to be standard.

This makes flower arranging so easy. I have many of these and have given them as gifts also. Will be purchasing more in the future.

Worked as expected. Had a vase I that needed a vertical arrangement. Added some rocks to weight it down. Nice rubber bottom that protects the interior of the vase.

Supper strong , sharp and weighted. If I think about it I will post pick when I make one of my beautiful arrangements with flowers in my garden

Very good with the size so I can combined 2 as a set to arrange my flowers.

This is great for keeping flowers in place! I was pleasantly surprised with the weight of this too; it's actually pretty heavy so you could put a lot of flowers in it and they won't move.
