Soooooooooooooo Cute and Fun!
I now have four different models of these little guys and love each and every one of them... I bought two of them in a store in Ft. Lauderdale almost 20 years ago and they look like new and still work perfectly! They are so quirky they make you laugh out loud, especially the jittery ones with the long antennas! Nothing stops this little guy, he just keeps walking over everything! Great price! Great quality and colors! Thanks!

9 yr old Birthday present! Big Hit!
I bought 3 of these wind up toys (kikkerland). My 9 year old nephew LOVED them!!! His 14 year old brother was playing with them too and they both thought they just looked cool and then to see them bounce around and move and spark - it was a great hit!And they look pretty cool just sitting on their shelf NOT being played with. It's a toy that they don't feel is childish and looks like some metal art.I'm really pleased with them and they have held up very well. I suppose treating them well and using them properly (not overwinding) makes a big difference too.

Awika: Fun but Not Durable
The Awika is an amazing toy. It is especially fun watching it crawl over obstacles and even your hands. ( Surprisingly the sparks do not sting and will not set fire to wood.) You can try making complex tracks for it to crawl over. Do not let the Awika run around on the carpet (I made that mistake) because its gears will get tangled with thread and it will not be able to move after wind up. My son played with this toy nonstop for three days or so until it broke down. Now it is on the shelf, resting in peace:(

Fun, engineering education, metal parts and GREAT GIFT
Awika is my husband's favorite Kikkerland toy, and it's easy to see why. Awika has a huge wind up gear, he can crawl over lots of stuff, and his rear end shoots sparks as his little rubber feet race along the ground! Very cool, and so different from today's concept of "toys." Oh, and they're not just for adults - please see my note on kids using these (below). These little gear box wind-up toys are soooo much fun (you can watch all of the action take place - the toy has an "open" build). My son and I found these toys by Kikkerland while on vacation, and I decided to purchase them from Amazon. Cosmojetz is the most active of all the Kikkerland gearbox toys, but Awika may be the most exciting to watch because it has so many feet, walks over most things, and shoots very small sparks out its rear!Don't set any of these toys near the end of a table or desk, or they may fall off and break. All of the keys and feet differ between the Kikkerland gear box toys, so you never know what you'll get. Almost entirely metal parts, these toys will last forever if you/your child do not abuse them (e.g., drop, smash, etc.)I bought a "Cranky" for my own desk and the Cosmojetz and the Awika for my 8 y.o. son, and they've been a big success! I only recommend these toys for responsible children who do not beat up or abuse their toys. These are not Mattel or Playskool toys, but are they cool and fun? Yep, way more unusual and cool than your average toy. Recommended!

Fun gift
This is a fun little toy. Even when cranked all the way it only gives 8 seconds movement. I had to return the first one that I got because the box and the items were damaged also it was not the color expected

Heart broken and penniless--almost because of a very sad, sad, sad toy.
I wound it maybe three times before it started to act up; then I discovered a gear had lost a tooth so the front wheels run but the back do not, and the spring gets sprung and the thing dies in a lump.I would calculate that the 5 or 10 minutes it took to take it out of the shipping envelope and box and to wind it up two or three times means that this little jewel cost a total of $100 and hour for its first hour of use. (Yes, it didn't last an hour.). An expensive experience. As with the others who have had a sad experience, quality is a major issue. I have bought maybe five other models to give as gifts. I'll find out soon if the other toys have the same physical problems. It gets a star because it looked great when it worked, and because I have a different model that does less but continues to work. But I hate that this Awika model didn't last long enough to give away. One last comment. It came in a lightly padded manila envelope slightly squashed and spilling out of the thin plastic "box." A very very poor shipping container.*********************************************************************************************************************HURRAY FOR AMAZON FOR accepting this as a return. Immediately!

Would not buy this again.
While very cool looking, even at full wind up this little wind up toy does not travel very far. The sparks are kind of neat. Also the packaging was very poor. Just thrown in a box by itself with no packaging to protect it. Should have been better protected.

Will recommend it to my friend
