All premium quality knives should not go into a dishwasher as dishwasher detergent is very abrasive, and along with the banging around that happens during a wash cycle, it will take the sharp edge right off your knife. ... Always wash knives by hand in the sink with dish soap and water and you will receive years and years of use out of your product.

Knives really should never go in the dishwasher especially if they are caked on with food scraps and left for extended periods, it will surely cause surface decolorization from oxidation, it is not rust. This can be easily removed with a light-creamed cleanser.

For the longevity of your products, we recommend washing your knives by hand under lukewarm water with a mild detergent and a non-scratch cloth or sponge to prevent premature wear caused by aggressive detergents.

If you insist on using a dishwasher, which we do not recommend, then do yourself a favor and at least rinse your items to remove caked-on food scraps left over, you will be shocked at the different results you will achieve!

•	Overpacking the cutlery basket means staining. Items don't touch each other. It's important that stainless steel and silver-plated or copper items don't come into contact, as the chemical reaction with hot water and dishwashing detergent can cause discolouration.
•	Stains such as watermarks can generally be wiped off easily from knife blades, and for more persistent rust stains, use a non-abrasive metal cleaning paste or liquid - one formulated for stainless steel, not a silver cleaner - if necessary.
•	For rainbow-like stains, use lemon juice.
