Solid Ring Net
The ring net comes with a somewhat flimsy string so I replaced it with a stronger/longer poly string. The ring net itself, however, is strong enough to handle consistent use. My biggest concerns with the other ring nets on Amazon is the long-term durability since most of them are netted. With this one, since the net itself is made of wire, it is a great long-term net. This isn't a set like the other ring nets on Amazon; It will only come with the net, the flimsy string, and a metal ring (to tie the string onto) so you'll need to purchase other pieces in order to go crabbing.

It's a good net
It's a good metal mesh net used for catching crab, but I can catch small pin fish in it too --- great for bait. It's one of my best crab nets thus far.

Quality of String
My fellow crabbers beware... save yourself the time before you use for crabbing to replace the strings attached to the basket. Due to the quality of the string, we did lose one trap after using it only a couple of throws in the water. We needed to replace the string on all of the 6 traps that we bought. This was time consuming on the first day. We did lose quality time crabbing and I would say a couple of crabs. I would like a refund for the crab trap that we did lose.

actually quite nice
We were skeptical of this 18" trap at first. It turned out to be the best purchase we made for crab fishing. We used to use 32" crabbing rings. Those are quite heavy. After we downsized our car, it got harder to carry those around. My folks were visiting and I was in a hurry to get a trap that can fit in the car, and this one happened to have 1-day prime shipping, we decided to try one of these without too high of an expectation. It turns out, this ring does its job, and does it well. It can catch small red rock crabs and large Dungeness crabs alike. The metal netting means that it is actually easier to remove the crab (instead of having it tangled with the nylon netting). The smaller holes also meant that nothing can escape. We've got crabs in the net on every pull, and none were able to escape at all. So far it is also holding up well with no signs of deforming. And, of course, it is so much easier to carry and store than the 32" rings we used to use. We are definitely getting more of these. With that said, a bit modification is useful. The first thing we did was to replace the harness after reading reviews on similar traps. In this case, I just tied a single paracord (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1BIIS8) into a triangle (without cutting the rope at all), and removed the original strings.

Good crab nets.
They are two ring all metal from the top ring down. So much better than inexpensive crab nets that I have "fought" with in the past. If you only go crabbing a few times a year, with a little care these should last you for many years! If you do not want to tie your bait to the trap, just purchase bait clips for less than a buck or make your own. I added a $1.00 large foam fishing bobber to the "pull" string so I can adjust it quickly to the depth of the water in which I am crabbing. I do plan on ordering a couple more. I have showed and told my crabbing friends about these crab nets.

These work very well-- lightyears better than the string mesh traps
These work very well for crabbing, and I didn't get caught up in them a single time. Hopefully you'll have better luck than I did when you head to the shore, as I mostly found minnows and snails enjoying my traps. There were a few crabs that were nice enough to bid me hello, but I ended up sending them all back to the deep because one or two crabs does not a dinner make. These are plenty sturdy, they compact to a nice size (so taking one takes up almost as much space as taking 4), and they just plain work better than mesh string ones. I zip-tied a few rocks to mine to help them sink (I should've cut the tag ends off), but for most waters they probably have enough weight to do the trick.
