Nuvo Iron Decorative Insert for Fencing, Gates, Home, Garden - Rectangular, 9" X 17″, Black

We installed a pair of these inserts on a double gate, as shown in the photo. The gates are 8-feet high and about 3-feet wide each. For gates this big, it is a good idea to have a helper. It was important for us to align both inserts to be at the same height on each gate. The instructions in the box are OK, but we did watch the video on their website. It is worth the few minutes to do that. For this model we used a 9/16" spade bit at the corners and cut along the template line to adjoin the holes. If you cut right on the line the parts should fit well. There is not much room for error, though, so go slowly. If you have the gate down from its post and laying on some saw horses, the process of marking, drilling and cutting should take about 20 minutes. Assembly of the two halves of the insert are by way of included allen screws. The allen wrench is provided in the kit.There are two sizes of screws included. Use those which best match the thickness of the gate. We used the smaller screws as our pickets are 5/8 inches thick. Overall, it is an easy job once you have your gate set up and tools ready. We are very pleased with the product and the results.It would be a good idea to keep the allen wrench for maintenance time. These will be easy to remove and refinish should the finish fade or get scratched.

This is a really high quality gate insert. It comes with mounting screws. I bought one last year for my back gate, and it still looks brand new. It has been in 100 degree heat in the summer and 14 below zero, and still looks like we just installed it. This company makes a beautiful product that stands against the weather.

I Love these! I bought 4. Ended up going back and buying 2 more. It give my fence such elegance that it makes it look like I spent $100,000 on my fence or more yet I paid under $7K. I have them high enough up that I can look through but my dogs can’t see the neighbors chickens or their running in their yard but I can look through it to see out like its a window. . It still allows for privacy. The elegance it bring to my fence is incredible. My contractor had no issues putting it in. It took him literally under 10 minutes, Im told as long as you can cut the hole, you can install it. It looks and feels well made. I could not be more happy with it. I didn’t include a photo of the gate which I had two installed there. I’ll go back and add a photo later. The price is really good. My contractor could not wait to post the photos and show other clientele. He was amazed at just how much it took my fence from plain Jane to very elegant. I am not rich but these made my fence look like something a millionaire would have on their fence. My house now needs an upgrade since my fence looks so damn good. I had people pulling over to take photos of them!!! Seriously you will not be disappointed if you buy these! They are sturdy and I do not think there will be any issues with weather etc. Just hose them off if get dusty etc.

This iron decorative is awesome. Easy to install, wears well and can be cleaned. Very good quality.

Very nice and easy to install

This gate insert really makes a boring gate look, well not boring! I really appreciated the designer took the time to give well thought instructions. What doesn’t cone across well in the description and photos is that there are two pieces, front and back that sandwich the fence boards and clamp them together at the cut out. I was worried cutting the boards would make the center ones floppy, but the clamping action prevents that. The packaging is thick cardboard with template for cutout and where to drill holes to accommodate the cast screw seats. It fit perfectly.

The media could not be loaded. My husband installed them and it looked pretty easy to do. The jigsaw is the most important tool for this project. Kit comes with a set of different sizes of screws and template for measuring where it needs to go. We used the shorter screws for this fence. This is aluminum, not wrought iron so you have to be delicate with it. One of the screw entrances broke off when we opened the package but we manage to get the screw in. I really like the fancy look. Overall nice product!

Wow, Wow, Wow!We had extended a waiting fence to increase our outdoor kitchen. We wanted to upgrade the wooden gates but did not want to have our courtyard/kitchen open to viewing.These are 2 solid metal decorative plates that allow you to insert them or, as we did, create a frame for them. We mounted them to the outside of the gate vs insert them into the gate to maintain our privacy.As other reviews state, depending on size of gate you can do the horizontal or vertical.The design is modern and very attractive.For the price of this very solid and beautifully designed inserts is beyond fair for the quality you get. They are easy to install or work with to creat frames like we did.Quick delivery too!If you want to upgrade your fence/gates this is a product for you!

Excellent construction and it possesses a high degree of visual appeal. The instructions are good on the packaging and follow them carefully. There is a video but this is for the square version. As well, the video instructions have the gate removed from the hinges. I was not able to do that and had to maneuver the jig saw vertically which made it challenging to cut it accurately. They call for a 5/8" size drill bit to allow for the 3 screw pockets and to give access for the jig-saw blade to cut the hole. I used a 1/2" drill bit as it was all I had and was left with reaming the hole out. I strongly recommend using the 5/8" as clearly indicated in the instructions to save time and aggravation. Also, I used my Dremel 3000 with a small round sanding head to smooth out the cuts from the jig saw. This left a more polished finish and it ensured it would fit as well. I tried to not use the rubber hammer on it but it would not fit until I did so. Again, this is in the instructions so do follow this advice. Last piece of advice, paint/stain the cut marks as they are visible when up close. This is a simple feature which may not matter to most people but I took the time to stain the cut marks and I like the finished look it presents. As well, moisture can penetrate this area so it is good to protect it. Overall, I am very pleased with the result of this insert and would recommend it for its quality and attractive qualities.
