That SOG works amazingly well, no problem with setup, no problem operating
Ease in setup and operation was perfect. Drill performed as expected and with ease. I have used my hand drills to attempt the same results, to no avail. Bosch wizzed me through this project with great ease. Very very happy I chose Bosch!!

like you would with the bigger D-handle impact drill
OK. You are NOT going to drill a ton of holes with ease, like you would with the bigger D-handle impact drill. It is not made for that. This is a combination hammer and conventional drill, with a variable-speed trigger. It is well made, but after just 4 holes in HARD concrete driveway going in almost 2 inches, it was definitely HOT. LET IT COOL! Sheesh. I think it is actually made for softer masonry, like bricks, block-walls, etc. And not for constant duty in those hard situations. I did have to resort to the D-handle version with a 1/4" bit and WEJ anchors instead of the 3/16 and 5/32 bits I was using for tap-cons. Now THAT baby drills! It went through that concrete like butter! It was hard to keep the drill bit wet, because you just get started and it was done. Anyway, for this smaller drill, back off a bit and let it cool, and it will last.

Great power for its size
Well, I was trying to decide between this hammer drill and a more expensive and well-known brand. The features were close to identical, with lower amp rating for the Bosch, but the price was definitely a difference. I went for the lower price and so glad that I did. The driver delivered the drill to my back door as requested and I put it to use within 5 minutes. I was surprised at how powerful this unit was compared to my prior battery powered unit. I think this will last me a Very long time.

Didn't hold up to drilling holes
Used this to drill 24 holes to mount a railing to a concrete porch and it almost didn't finish the job it started stopping after a few seconds of running. I would drill 4 holes and mount a bracket before moving to the next one so it shouldn't have over heated even though I should have been able to drill all of the holes without stopping.

There's no substitute for a hammer drill for some tasks, and this is better/cheaper than most
Hey, it's a modest sized plug-in drill with a real hammer option (many "hammer-drill" units aren't particularly good at hammering, just drilling, most particularly the battery powered units). It's simple and seems well made. I had given up using drills (upper end 20 volt battery powered and also a plug-in semi-commercial drill) to get through thick, very high strength concrete. This works, but ......NOTE I did not need to drill holes more than 1/4" across....this unit would not be suitable for 1/2" or greater drilling.

A good drill, when it doesn't decide to slip into hammer drill in the middle of a normal drilling job.
I really liked this drill, especially since most of my power tools are made by Bosch. The corded drill is powerful and feels good in the hands. It was everything that I needed it to be and my go to drill for the tough jobs. But mine is now broken and of no use to me anymore. The drill I received kept slipping into hammer drill, without me touching the switch at all, as I was drilling. The last time this happened I was drilling with a spade bit into wood when it slipped into hammer drill, jammed and then stripped the gears inside the drill. It stills runs, but the chuck doesn't turn anymore. I used this drill quite often, so I'm not yet sure what I will replace it with. Normally that would be another Bosch, but I'm not sure it will be. I'm a little leery of replacing it with another of the same kind. That sucks, because I really liked this corded drill.

This drill rocks
Bought this drill to specifically to drill about 100 holes in a concrete floor. I also bought the Bosch bits specific for it. It made short work of the project! The drill has plenty of power and setting for standard drilling, combination of standard and hammer and full on hammer drill mode. Drill change is easy, but note that it is set up for the dedicated Bosch bits. If you want to use standard bits, you need to purchase a 3-jaw-chuck accessory. I've only used it as a hammer drill and for that purpose I would highly recommend this drill. As with most Bosch stuff it comes in a very good case.
