Brightness of display easy to see and when power is disconnected the device ...
Works as advertised. Brightness of display easy to see and when power is disconnected the device works on its batteries and brightness is substantially reduced, saving battery life. To toggle between C and F degrees, press the 'down' button for about 3 seconds then press again to change from C to F and back. If this little device were to meet all of its complaints of specific needs the cost would multiply several times.

Provides a lot of info, most importantly accurate voltage readings.
This gauge offers more than I need - I was looking for a volt meter - but the interior/external thermometers are nice and the clock is more hand than I expected. Most important, I compared the voltage readings to a Fluke meter and this meter is accurate! Well done. As for the complaints about thin wires, I don't understand the problem. The wires are adequate for the loads and simple care installing the meter will NOT damage the wires. I would like to be able to turn the freezing temp alarm off because it signals too often when the temp is hovering at 39 degrees. Being able to switch from green to red is nice (I switch it to red at night).

Very Disappointed...Unit does not function as advertised
I bought this LCD Clock and Temperature Themometer to install in my "custom" 1995 GMC Pickup. I mounted / glued the unit to the top of the rearview mirror frame. I was excited and happy with the mounting and look as it took me over a day to install. I had to take the mirror assembly down from the windshield and glue the unit to the top of the mirror frame. However, my happiness was short-lived as it turned to disappointment when I finally got the unit electronically connected into the truck. I professionally wired this unit to my truck taking extra steps to run the sensor out to the front inside bumper ( between frame and bumper ) and wired the power to the ignition key. I wanted the unit to turn on automatically when the key was in the on position. During installation, I noticed that the supplied wiring was of very cheap quality. If you take a look at the picture, you will see that the sensor wire is not made to be run outside or in the engine compartment. For instance the sensor and the power wire strand was very fine, somewhat brittle, and not much strand, only about 5 or 6 strands; not suitable to handle the heat of an engine compartment or to be run alone the frame of a vehicle. To remedy that I soldered in some all-weather automotive wire and soldered the sensor end that goes to the bumper to the new wiring and done the same to the opposite end that plugs into the back of the LCD Unit. Soldering was very difficult because of the low quality brittle strand of the wiring but I made it work. Take a look at the picture and you will see how small the wiring is for this unit sensor and power supply. I upgraded the wiring for both the power and the sensor. After my upgrade, functionally, the unit picks up a good accurate outside temperature but the inside temperature is way off. I also noticed that both temperature readings for both outside and inside seems to creep up when you are at a stop light. Probably, this is typical, but the outside temperature is very accurate when the vehicle is moving. Also, the voltage meter is very useful and accurate. However one of my biggest disappointments in this unit is, it is difficult to see the display on a sunny day. In addition, the product advertisement claims that you can switch between two colors; green and blue. That's not true. The unit only switches between blue and brown (..or rustic orange ). The only color that is visible in the daylight hours is the rustic brown. The blue display is not visible in the daylight and at night, the visibility is not that great. Note in the picture that the blue display shot was taken about 5:30pm in the evening about 20 minutes before sun down. That was the only time I was able to see the blue display. In the middle of the day in sunlight forget about switching the display to blue. You can only view this unit in the brown display during the day as blue is not visible. Matter of fact, the manufacture should change there advertisement to say that blue is only visible at night, and that the unit backlight color is blue and brown. NOT BLUE and GREEN.As a result, I was very very disappointed in this product. The quality of the wiring was poor, not adaptable for automotive wiring, only displays in blue and brown ( NOT BLUE and GREEN ) and the visibility is poor in the sun light. Overtime, I will most likely have to replace this with a better quality LCD Unit but for now, since I had glued the unit to my rearview mirror, it's not worth me going to the painstaking task of removing it.UPDATE: After driving with this unit for 3 months, I haven't had any problem with the unit as far as functionality and the backup lithum battery that holds the time when the truck is off is still shows full. In short, this unit has held up well but I think that is only after my upgrade of the wiring.

Great visibility
I like the fact that it's super easy to see and read while I'm driving that's a huge plus, however, the thermometer isn't very accurate. It was showing 82 degrees in my truck yesterday and it was maybe 65. The outside thermometer is better but only when I'm moving

Great Item - But The External Temperature Probe Won't Last
Over the years I have bought many of these from different sellers. I very much like the display, color, and the information displayed. The voltage and thermostat reading are fairly accurate, and I only have to adjust the time every few months - this isn't a quartz clock. My only complaint, and this is simply a design feature, is that the external temperature probes never last very long. Every one I have ever bought and installed on my vehicles eventually has to have the external temperature probe replaced. They just don't hold up over time and exposure to being outside. Fortunately this item is very reasonable in price, so I just buy a new item and use the new external temperature probe with my already installed unit. Of course, I have quite a collection of spare display units with no external sensors.

Cheap sensor wires
Like others have posted, the wires are extremely cheap. This could be such a great unit. I would gladly pay more for thicker sensor wires. I ruined the sensor trying to get it thru a firewall grommet. I had to buy another one. This time I'm going to cut the sensor wire. Solder a thicker wire to it. Then thread that into the firewall & attach it to the base unit. Wish you could just buy the sensor. The wire literally has 5 strands & is extremely thin. I would imagine it's 26 AWG. This could be so much better with a better designed system. Even the 12 volt adapter wires are just as cheap & thin. It's a shame because it has a really nice display

It arrived and it works fine. Can see it day or night
It arrived and it works fine. Can see it day or night. It also came with the back up batteries. Now for the longevity test since I use it in a big rig. It's been powered up now for over month and it still works great. It is handling the constant bumps and vibrations in my semi. I definitely recommend this product for the price too.

Customer service
product failure I contacted company to obtain parts needed for this to continue working even offered to pay for if necessary. After a week of back and forth emails, the company is refusing to help me. Poor customer service

One of the better looking displays
Sensor is very sensitive, I was getting incorrect readings when it was mount inside the engine bay. So I rerouted to the corner of my hood by my fog lamp bracket. Seems pretty accurate when it was compared to the wife’s GLC ,I might extend the wires and mount the temperature sensor closer to the front grill.

I can actually see it in the dark, Great clock
I love the fact that it glows in the dark, the last clock I had, I had to keep the interior light on all the time in order to see the clock. My job requires me to get done at a certain time and I like to keep track of where I am timewise. It has batteries so that when you shut your car off and turn it back on you don’t have to reset the time. I keep it plugged in all the time so whenever I start my vehicle it’s nice and bright. The last clock I had did not keep the time, this one does which is great because I don’t have to keep resetting it. The only downside is the sticky tape that comes with it does not work at all, my clock fell off the first time I used it. I don’t want to drill holes in the dashboard, fortunately it’s a work vehicle so I just use duct tape, Red Green would be proud, lol. The last clock I bought was around $12 and this one was around $25, if I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t of bought the $12 clock. I haven’t used the outside thermometer yet so between that and having to tape it down is the reason why I gave it four stars.

where to put it
Ist delivery was stolen.(porch pirate).I managed to mount this in place of a useless panel after installing an aftermarket media player.I took the coin batteries out after a year, I decided to use some AA style lithium batteries to hold the time and memory. Weak coin battery craps out after starting the car.... works great now .. though i still have to find a place to put the ext temp sensor. wire not long enough.........
