Much Better Value than the AlpsWolf 4000mAh Camping Lantern
TL;DR: The LE lamp is a much better value than the AlpsWolf even if a few dollars more: 1) Better usable battery life 2) Far better functionality 3) Better qualityI actually needed 2 lamps and bought this and the "AlpsWolf Camping Lantern" on different lightning deals on Prime day. I didn't intend on comparing the 2 but decided to see what the difference was when I got them. There are a bunch of cheaper lamps out there that look just like the LE lamp. The "AlpsWolf Camping Lantern Rechargeable Camping Flashlight 4000mAh" is one of the many cheap versions that look and have exactly the same functionality, only difference I see is that some say 4000mAh and some say 3600mAh.Here's what I found:1) Usable Battery life. This one surprised me. This LE lamp is 2600mAh while the AlpsWolf says it's 4000mAh. I charged both up completely overnight then set them to their brightest setting and waited to see which would last longer. The first time the AlpsWolf did fine and outlasted the LE before going dim (lasted about 3.75 hours, higher than it's stated life!)BUT: I then I charged both up again overnight and did the test again. This time the AlpsWolf went to a very low dim level about the same time that the LE Lamp died (little over 2 hours). Here's where the LE clearly wins: the LE Lamp has a 180 degree mode at full brightness. When I'm camping, I don't need to light up the trees behind the table. In 180 degree mode the LE Lamp lasted about 4.5 hours. I reran the tests and each time other than the first time I used it, the AlpsWolf lamp went dim a little after 2 hours. The LE lamp at 360 degrees was consistent, lasting a little over 2 hours and over 4.5 hours at 180 degree mode.I didn't notice any significant brightness difference between the two lamps either when they were bright (note that the AlpsWolf brightness dims as the batter runs down though...). The AlpsWolf lamp covering is completely opaque while the LE Lamp is opaque but slightly more transparent so you can see the LEDs.2) Functionality/DesignThe LE Lamp has many functional advantages:a) 4 charge level LEDs show battery percent chargeb) ability to see charge level without having to turn on lamp (press power button once)c) both 360 & 180 degree illumination abilityd) variable dimming capability for lamp. You don't just get bright and dim: select the lamp mode you want (360 or 180), then hold the power button and it will dim down. You can choose just how dim you want it. Press and hold again to brighten (this only works for white light lamp mode, not red or flashlight)e) Separate button for flashlight, right where your thumb will be when holding the lamp handle for the flashlightf) integrated hooks for hanging. Don't need a carabiner to hang the lampg) integrated charging cable. Some might not like this, but the charging cable is part of the lamp and is wrapped around the body when not in use. I found this very handy and the design appears robust.h) consistency of light: the LE lamp is full brightness until it goes off (but then it's off and not usable). The AlpsWolf light would dim down as the battery ran lower.3) QualityBoth lamps appear almost identical. Almost. The major difference is the rear end with the controls (completely different), but looking closer the actual measurements on the green rings and front flashlight cowling differed between two by several millimeters. One is a good copy of the other.a) Weight: The Alpswolf supposedly has 2x 18650 batteries for 4000mAh while the LE Lamp only has a single battery for 2600mAh. But the LE Lamp weighed ~1/2 oz. more. Huh.b) LE Lamp: button detention, quality if the plastics, and fit and finish all were noticeably better. It felt more solid when being used.c) The charging indicator on the AlpsWolf is a bi-color LED in the power button. Blue means it's charged, red means it needs a charge. But the red was faint and only in a small part of the button. Yea it worked but just was cheap.4) LongevityI can't address this for the LE Lamp. After 1 charge the AlpsWolf was already less than 2/3s of it's rated life (~2 hours / 3.5 hours rated) so it is being returned to Amazon. What didn't I like about the LE Lamp?a) Inconsistent power usage indicator. The power indicator would say 50% capacity after 3.5 hours in 180 mode then be dead an hour and a half later.b) lamp covering should be more opaque. I actually preferred the opaqueness of the AlpsWolf. I don't need to see the individual LEDs.Summary: The LE Lamp is just a better value overall: better usable battery life, better functionality, higher quality. It's not perfect, but no product is. While it's possible that I got a bad version of the AlpsWolf, that doesn't make up for the lower quality and worse functionality. I honestly have my doubts about the "4000mAh rating" on the AlpsWolf as well. The LE Lamp delivers what it promises, and importantly, it doesn't over promise either.Do I recommend the LE Lamp? Absolutely.

Good size, great light, easy to charge, and keeps on working for years
Bought this years ago and it keeps working perfectly. The light is bright or dim however you like it. It works well as a lamp or as a strong flashlight. It will survive plenty of bumps and even some drops. It’s a great light and well worth it.

Versatile and Efficient Lantern
This is a great lantern for camping. The flashlight is super bright on "high", and provides good light on "low" while conserving battery a bit. The feature I use most, though, is the lighting around the side of the lamp. First click activates the battery level indicator without turning on any lights and is self-canceling after a few seconds, so you don't have to cycle through all the lights to cancel the battery check. Other lights I have do so this is a welcome feature. A second press of the button lights the LEDs all around, while the third click just lights up half of them on one side. For both settings, holding down the button progressively dims the LEDs so you can set it for just the right amount of light needed. When I'm hanging out in my vehicle at night, it's great to be able to light up the half side and dim it way down to provide just a little ambient illumination. As a side note, the flashlight has it's own button and the side light has one just for that. Both can be used at the same time if needed.I also appreciate the next press of the button which turns the side LEDs red. If I wake up in the middle of the night (for whatever reason), the red light preserves night vision and I don't get blinded by a bright, white light. I just keep my eyes closed while I count out the presses (4) to reach the red Really nice. I do wish the red light was dimmable as well, but that's not a big deal. I would be more prone to leaving the red light on more if it was is all. The fifth press activates the flashing red light which would be most handy if disabled on the side of the road at night or some similar situation. One more press and the unit turns off.Battery life isn't spectacular, but is more than adequate for normal periodic use during the evening. Might not be the best choice for lighting up a large area throughout a long evening, but it's fine for the last few hours before bed plus a possible need during the night. Of course, if you DID need extended run-time, you could connect it to an external power supply and probably run it full blast for days. On the plus side, recharging is very fast. It goes from nearly empty to full charge in just a couple of hours via the built-in USB cable. This USB cable is a very thoughtful feature. I have enough USB devices to power and charge without having to keep track of one more length of cable. When not in use, it wraps securely out of the way. It is deployed and returned to storage easily and quickly. At about eight inches long, it might be considered a bit short in some circumstances, but the convenience of always having it there and not having another long cable to get tangled up more than makes up for any disadvantages presented by a short cable. The side handle folds (mostly, not completely) up against the unit when not needed. It has two hanging hooks on top which do fold down completely out of the way. There are two so you can choose which way to orient the lantern when hanging and using just the half side LEDs, which is another thoughtful feature. Finally, there is a USB charging port on top so that if you're stuck without any other source, you can give your cell phone a bit of charge. I haven't used this feature so can't speak to how long you could charge for, but it could make all the difference if the phone runs low and the lantern is all you have. It's nice that when a device is plugged in, the power level indicator stays lit so you can easily monitor what's left. The indicator also stays lit while the lantern is being used for lighting. For my needs it may be very nearly the perfect solution for lighting, and I recommend it highly.

Probably an excellent camping light.
The peripheral lighting is not as bright as I would prefer. I live in a rural area, no street lights. I need all the brightness I can get. The unit is neat, very light weight. Easy to charge and after more than 45 minutes of use, still shows a full charge. I like the USB charging feature, so will keep it for emergencies.

It broke down very quickly
I bought this for emergency use. Only used it every now and then to charge it and keep the battery running. It broke down after several of this charging sessions. Contacted the seller through Amazon, no reply. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Sturdy little torch/lantern with some great features.
This is a great little torch/lantern that will serve my needs into the future. I like the two settings for the beam of the torch by pressing the front switch, the first setting is very bright and the beam shines quite a distance. The second setting is about half the brightness and will conserve the battery for longer use. The lantern has five settings which are accessed by the switch at the rear of the torch, which toggles from battery charge indicator, full lantern, half lantern , red lantern and flashing red lantern for an emergency warning. I like that it has a USB rechargeable cable and plug so no additional batteries are required. It also has a USB power plug for charging small electronic items.
