Festool 492601 Guide Stop Adapter For OF 1400 And FS Guide Rails

We got this for running dados with our Festool 1400 router. Used it on this liquor display cabinet for a client, and it did great. Kept our dados precise.I’d highly recommend! Easy to setup and use.

First thing.. make sure this is the right accessory for your router. There are multiple rail guides for different Festool routers. This is specifically for the 1400 model.What to say about this.. if you want to make easy accurate straight routing channels and you don't have a router table OR you need to make a channel far into your material, this accessory is worth twice the price (yes, even for Festool). I've used used on several occasions so for joining larger panels together and have been very happy. I also was able to inlay a hard wood piece into my cutting area on my DIY multi function work bench.I did have to look up how to use it on youtube (which I highly recommend). It wasn't intuitive to me so that helped. Very happy over all and a great little addition to my OF 1400 and guide rail system.

By far the cheapest Festool product I have ever purchased and quite possibly my second favorite (nothing will ever beat the domino). So easy to use and the set up takes seconds. You owe it to yourself to buy these if you own an OF 1400.

I bought this along with the Festool OF 1400 router and couldn't be more pleased. It worked great for milling tenons on the end of a dining room table im building. Highly recommend this accessory

The Festool Guide Stop Adapter is very useful. When used with the OF1400 router and a guide rail, it makes routing dadoes very easy. When used without the guide rail, for trimming laminate edges for example, it helps to stabilize the router because its bottom surface is parallel with the base of the router. You can put one hand on the top of the Guide Stop Adapter and one hand on the router and it makes it more stable. It uses the same rails, included with the router,mthat insert into the base that the edge guide uses.

So these work well. We don’t really have other options like we do with dewalt clamps for the track saw.... They absolutely could be better, especially running the FT 1400 router. In one of my photos I’m pointing to the slot that can be used to it attach multiple tracks together as well as be used on the festool table. I’m not sure why these guide stope don’t have a section that slides in the slot to avoid rocking when plunging your bit in to your project. Yes these do include a support foot that somewhat works. Still and you plunge a heavy router like the 1400 you get some rocking. I think just a little more support would be great.Over all they do work. I’m using them to hog out material on some half lap joints. I wold buy again.I hope this was helpful.

Worked great like most things Festool. A little pricey but I think it paid for itself in one set of cabinet shelves. The usual Festool quality instructions too (that sentence should have the sarcasm font). Festool users will recognize that you either get it when you first see it or from the pictures OR you go to YouTube and find someone who's kindly taken the time to post adequate instructions. After a while you get used to it and realize they do great tools and poor instructions. Perhaps they'll figure that part out soon.
