Amazing for the green.
Looks great, long leads provided and the sound… well, threw it in the neck position of my Gibson SG, added coil split to it and honestly… I can’t tell the difference between pickups sounding three to four times the price. I’m a bit pickier with my bridge pickups because I play higher gain stuff, so honestly wouldn’t chance not putting one of the name brands there, but for the neck this sounds wonderful. Splits nicely also with balanced, clean chime. I would rather have this than an SD59’ for instance, which just sound like mud to me.Took a while to arrive, but I wasn’t in a hurry and worth the wait!Artec makes good stuff. Always have, but first time trying their pickups. Def will consider again for low risk or low budget projects again in the future!

Great pickups but double check the wiring diagram
My diagram had green as the hot and black as the ground. It was completely opposite. Once I mapped out the pickup correctly they sound fantastic. They are very close to any $200 PAF clone out there today.

Worth more than the price!
I installed these in a BCP 335 type that came with microphonic pickups (not bad clean but would howl under the slightest gain and feedback). I didn't want to spend a lot on pickups for such an inexpensive guitar (not a bad guitar at all after some fret work and a slight setup) and these were recommended to me on a guitar forum. Wow!First, the howling screech was gone from under a bit of gain compared to the stock pickups. They handle higher gain as well quite nicely (great hollow body feedback.....the good kind.) Wax potted and stay quiet. Second, I use SD 59s in the necks of most all of my guitars....and this is so close that you won't notice the difference after a bit of playing. Not a fair comparison, LP versus 335 will change the tone, but I know the pickup well enough to know what it sounds like. Not sure on the bridge compared to the SD (don't have one to A/B with), however, I'm sure that the comparison would be favorable. Third, four conductor wiring with a very nice split sound. Although I did not hardwire these to be split, I played around with them before deciding (clip leads are great for this). Very nice and comparable to the SDs. But I didn't want splits on this guitar so decided not to (I use the splits on my LPs a lot). Fourth, the pair is very balanced and complimentary. Adjust to taste and you will find that the neck and bridge work very well together. Fifth, the fit and finish are top notch. Easy drop in replacement pickups. All in all, I highly recommend considering these pickups if you are looking at replacing the pickups in an inexpensive guitar. $200-$300 on a set of SDs on a $100 guitar doesn't make much sense in most cases. However, these do sound great. To me, they are good enough that I ordered another set for an inexpensive LP type that will be used on stage in my bar band (along with the 335 knockoff).

To me it sounds great
Have a squire starcaster that I love and was making it one bridge humbucker and one volume. As much as I wanted a Seymour Duncan I didn’t feel like purchasing one and I looked around and heard this company makes good pickups for the price. As much as I love fast thrashing I wanted something with a lower output so I can experiment with it. It fit exactly into the bridge no problems there and the wiring instructions were straight forward and easy to read. To me the tone works amazing with cleans but it does great with overdrive and distortion. I can really push it and it hit the mark for me. It was my first time purchasing a pickup and doing all the soldering to a pot on my own. Usually take it to my guitar guy but I want to learn. Overall I love it and it sounds great, will update if anything changes.

Really nice for the price....
Bought these for a project SG and was very impressed with how these sounded! I backed a couple of the pole pieces out and can confirm they are indeed wax potted (you can see the wax in the threads). Dead quiet too, which was such a nice surprise I'm getting another gold set for a LP. Had a hell of a time pulling both sets of 4 conductor wire through a small control cavity hole and was happy to see that they both held together after the amount of force applied. While the construction seems better than adequate (I am not sure if these are "18% nickel steel covers blah blah") the tone was what really impressed. I have been tinkering with guitars for 40 years now, and favour single coils generally, but these sounded great clean or distorted, with a very nice pronounce growel in the low end and a singing, non-ice pick high end with great sustain that sounds as good or better than my Duncan 59/JB PRS setup. Not sure if they will go "death metal heavy" but I suspect those players will probably be looking at other options anyway. These do classic rock very well, including heavier stuff. I don't think you can do better when looking at budget sets. Hell, I hesitate to call them a "budget set", they are just a real nice set of pickups that I would not hesitate playing out or taking to the studio. Highly recommended.

A little too dark, but usable if you clean it up with EQ
Looks great, no issues installing, sounds fine when run through EQ to brighten it up but if you go straight into an amp, it’s really dark sounding. Like dead dark. Not the exact sound I hoped for, but in the right set up it is serviceable none the less and for the price it’s difficult to complain.

A surprisingly nice replacement
I almost didn’t buy these based on the low price. I’m glad I took a chance. Good full range response and the install was a breeze. More than enough wire and clear diagrams. I liked these so much I bought the bass variant for an EB0 without any hesitation.
