I took this to Italy last summer during a scorching heat wave (117 degrees on 07/24/23!). It was really hot and sunny every other day, and this umbrella saved my pasty skin AND dropped the temperature. Other travelers looked at it with envy. It’s a great size and not too heavy. It’s a little hard to close.

I'll admit, the reviews put me off because I didn't want an umbrella that was difficult to close and didn't last in the wind(because most unfortunately, I broke my last umbrella that way). So I've taken lengths to close it when I feel like the wind is too strong and so far it's been good. Gentle breezes don't break it, and even if the wind is a little too strong the umbrella bends a bit then bounces back. It's easy to open but it does require some caution when closing. The button is secure and doesn't feel like it'll break at any time which is great, but if you have long nails you could definitely struggle a bit. I actually chipped a bit of my nail pushing the button to open the umbrella. Otherwise it's really nice, gets the job done and it's lightweight and better than I thought it'd be.

I spent two days last week on a picket line in weather that even by DC summer standards, was absolutely beastly. Being very fair skinned, I did not want to fry. This umbrella saved me. It is a little heavier than a plain umbrella but it's worth it to have such excellent sun protection.

This product offers great sun protection but is heavier than expected. I also had hoped it would be smaller when folded, but I did not check measurements before purchasing. I bought it to take to an outdoor festival, choosing this one for the full sun blockage and because it was listed as a "parasol." The music festival defined parasol as not having metal, but I got in with it anyway! Yay!I wish different colors and patterns had been available like in the Totes line.The umbrella has black fabric on an inside layer and white fabric on the outside. It's no different in feel than any normal umbrella, but maybe a little bit heavier due to sturdy construction, automatic button release/opening, and the double layered fabric.I do not find it very easy to close at all, but I use it only occasionally so it's okay with me!

Love this umbrella for my warm summer walks. It makes my walks in 95 plus degree weather feel at least 10 degrees cooler.

Very compactible, color doesnt hurt the eyes. The only downsize is to put it back in place. Must be strong to retract it.

It does its job. It's a bit small but it has completely protected me from the rain. I was also able to use it to cover myself and a child but again this barely works because it is not that big. If I used a bulky backpack it would probably get wet. It feels very sturdy, sturdy enough to not have the wind boxing it around. All in all I'm satisfied with my purchase!

Beautiful material pattern and definitely shields from the heat. Just requires a gentle hand while opening and closing. Ordered 2 and mine was fine, but my son-in-law broke the one he was using on the first day - he accidentally bumped it against the side of a building while walking and one rod snapped in half leaving it droopy. Note it’s big enough to shield one person comfortably.

Blocks the sun well and the button features for opening and closing are effective. Good sun umbrella.

I bought two of these, I like the black lining (for UV protection). I wish there were more outer colours available, only white offered

My wife likes it and that is all that needs to be known!

I have only opened it in the house but I anticipate it will work as intended when on vacation. Will review again when I have used it.
