These protectors are made of a nice, thin, flexible plastic material that is clear and seems durable. I love the feel of them. My 4x6 recipe cards just slide right in so easily.

Perfect. Exactly what I wanted/needed to protect/preserve our cards. 4X6 cards do fit perfectly; you'll need to wiggle them a bit to get them in the sleeves. I ordered 4 to cover cards in my Mom's recipe box (yes, she has that many.) Some of her cards are 40 years old (one dated 1979). I'd made her a book, but that turned out to be a terrible mistake, because she uses the box system like her Mom. It was like I'd cut her hands off, she kept saying, "I can't find my recipe" and "this book is so heavy" and "I have to store it upstairs, it doesn't fit on the shelf." So, with many thanks to JOT and Mark, these cards are now back in the box, easily removable for my tactile Mom, and with a protective film to preserve our most treasured cards. Thank you.

I've ordered these several times - they are thicker and clearer than other types I've gotten, and also fit my 4 x 6 recipe cards far better - thus fitting inside my recipe box better.To slip my recipe cards inside, I use two damp fingers, one on either side of the plastic, and gently move fingers in opposite directions to create an opening, slide the card in, and done! Easy peasy!

There's not a recipe card or a page in my cookbooks that doesn't have my cooking splatters all over it. Yes, I'm a splatterer. If I'm lucky, it's just flour. Thick Card Stock.While I was looking as the old sad and splattered cards, I had an epiphany......recipe card protectors. I bought these card protectors and they have saved my new recipe cards many times. The only adjustment I had to make was to take about 1/4th of an inch off the end to make it fit in my new recipe box. I used a paper cutter to keep the edges straight and uniform (make sure you cut the open end and not the closed end). The cards still fit all the way inside them so nothing is hanging out.I am very pleased with these card protectors. All I have to do is wipe off my splatters and return the clean recipe card back to the box.

Quality of product

I use these to hold pictures and put them on my fridge. They are great. Didn't give 5 stars because 5 out of the pack came out defective, meaning the weren't sealed properly on one side and are unusable unless I tape them, but that didn't look good.

They’re great!! They fit snugly (but not too snuggly) around the recipe and I like writing in pencil. Great protection.
