non-twisting and durable
The key feature I needed was a non-twisting tie out cable. I have a Germán Shepard puppy who is very active and has used up three tie out cables because as she runs around they twist and tangle up. They get all kinked and bent and I had to throw them out because they didn't work as intended anymore. So far this cable hasn't had that issue. I also love the locking mechanism on the clasp. It makes it much harder to break and that matters because my dog has already broken 4 or 5 leashes because of the cheap clasp.

Good product for the cost
The dog lead is put together well. The spring mechanism helps minimize the pull when our large dog reaches the limit of the line.

Good cable
The cable is great. The outer coating is thin so it will come off if you have s far. It's been lasting, however, the Spring on the and to reduce compression is for smaller dogs. If you have a big dog I would recommend just taking it off. It broke. The first time he yanked on it.The Carrier b***** at the end are on the lower grade. Probably won't last long if your dog is big and likes to pull like my huskyThe Carrier b***** at the end are on the lower grade. So far, so good
I have two small dogs that like to be out with me when I garden. The front yard isn’t fenced, so I bought these and a stake. They can run to greet people who are interested, but stay 6 feet from the sidewalk for those who don’t want a barking, tail wagging dog stopping their walk or jog. They do get the cables criss crossed sometimes because there are two. But they don’t get tangled up and into knots and where I’m afraid one will get choked. However, if the yorkie goes inside, the energetic shih tzu mix doesn’t get tangled at all. I love how it rotates. When they are on regular long leashes they get knotted up and stuck on things and each other. These are perfect. They are also easy to clean off if they go to the bathroom while on the leash. (The little one does this.)It took a few minutes to understand how to open and close the carabiner. But it’s sturdier than a regular clasp so worth the time it takes to unscrew it, press it open, attach it to the dog’s harness and screw it back to lock it.I have been using it two weeks now and because it is a bit of a pain attaching it, I have left them outside attached to the stake. So far it still looks brand new, despite the rain and sprinklers. Once it’s too hot to keep the dogs out, I’ll put them in the shed. I think these will last.I don’t know how well they would hold up to large dogs, but my 20 lb dog pulls on it running to people walking by and it’s been sturdy. 🤞🏻 She’s comfortable walking around, sitting and lying down. The 6 lb blind dog hasn’t gotten tangled up in anything either.

I'd say it was junk!
First off I have a 53 pound pit bull; hardly a monster of a dog. Previously to buying this junk I used a 1/8" stainless steel cable that I fashioned with loops at either end and secured it to a post on my deck. Looped and held in place with a removeable steel link. The other end was also looped to hold a steel clasp that attached to the dog's collar. The issue was the cable would kink and eventually chaff through so I it had to be replaced every 6 months. I checked this product out and it is the same diameter stainless cable with the smooth coating that is supposed to prevent kinking and chaffing. All seemed well until the weak link in the whole affair reared its ugly head this morning. If you look closely at this thing, you will note that it is, in fact seemingly a well made item until you get to that ridiculous spring assembly. Yes the concept is sound the application is laughable! In order to take up the stress of a dog's lunge; trust me a 53 pound dog can knock a 200 pound on his back side. The length of the spring is 3 inches! You would need a spring 2 feet long to even hope to suppress the force of a lunge. At any rate the dog was let out at 5 am and apparently lunged at something and the spring link snapped like a pretzel. The dog came when he was called and I retrieved the hook from his collar and attached it to the now "springless" cable end.So a warning to buyers: If you buy this thing take off that silly spring as it is useless for it's intended purpose and the metal used is cheap junk!

Shock Spring Broke
The shock spring broke the first time my dog was tethered with the cable. She took off at a run, maybe 10 feet, and when she reached the end of the tether the spring assembly failed and off she went. She is only 23 pounds. The cable and swivels are fine but the shock spring leaves something to be desired.

Spring is dangerous
50 pound dog took off when another dog came into our campsite. Spring blew into pieces and dog was released. Dangerous and clearly didn’t work.
