Stick to OEM
First rule of Honda ownership, stay with Genuine OEM Honda parts and you will only do the job once. I replaced this and the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC). The Honda CR-V should be good for another 220,000 miles!

Exactly what was needed.
Purchased this to fix codes P1078 and P1077.Worked just as it should. I have a copy of the CRV Service manual that I found online (a quick google search turned up this www hondahookup com/manuals/). chapter 11, page 177 has the diagnostic instructions for the IMRC system.Went through this and by step 6 it indicated a bad IMRC Solenoid. To get access to the solenoid you only need a 10 mm sock wrench, needle nose pliers (I explain why below), and a Phillips screw driver.Remove the forward plastic cover via the 2 10 mm bolts, there is a 10 mm bolt right near the solenoid that holds it in place. Remove and and be careful not to drop it cause it is short. Use the needle nose to separate the wire harness clip from the bracket. You can diagnose from here. Changing it requires disconnecting both vacuum hoses (one on top and 1 on bottom, use the needle nose to help loosen the bottom one by twisting the hose gently), then use the Phillips to remove the bracket from the solenoid. Install in reverse order.Unfortunately the solenoid is OEM only and no after market companies make it, so I had no choice then to spend the hundred bucks.Replacing it took roughly 5 minutes, the most difficult part was reconnecting the lower Vacuum line, you may want to have a pair of needle nose pliers handy for this. Started the car up, plugged in my scanner and took the RPMs up to 5000 several times and held it there for a few seconds and no codes came back.Took the car for a test drive and I was amazed by how much torque was lost due to the bad solenoid. I am very happy that it now works as it should. While I had the cover off the engine I took the liberty to clean off all the gunk around the valve cap, injectors and fuel rail. I would recommend you do the same, this may help avoid other issues in the future.

This worked perfectly for our Honda CRV... no issues.
THis part worked perfectly with our 2003 Honda CRV. We bought for $10 another one from O'Reilly's but it failed right off the bat. Got our money back but should have ordered the OEM Genuine part sold here.

Get rid of 1077 and 1078 codes
Used in an β03 CRV. Had the usual codes. Replaced this piece (super easy) and after a few engine cycles, codes are gone. Been without the check engine light for 2 weeks or so now.

Order process 1 day and delivery from Tokyo Japan to Ohio in 1 day. Total of 2 days from order to recieved from half way around the world. Wow.
