We're in the Forest Now.
First of all, I did NOT receive this item free or discounted. I purchased this full price for my daughter's bedroom. I believe the price of about $100. was quite a deal. It arrived quickly, 6 strips rolled up in a much taller box. The roll had moved around (no protection), but in the end, the bent corners didn't affect the end result. There were no instructions whatsoever. Directions in the amazon product description is all you get. I have done wallpaper and wallpaper murals before, so I wasn't too worried, but some kind of intro would have been nice. The strips are clearly numbered 1-6. One reviewer said his/her numbers were wrong, so I printed the full picture off of amazon and carefully examined the strips. My numbers were correct. The material is plastic/vinyl sticker with heavy paper backing. Think thick bumper sticker. Folding down the first 4 inches or so really helped before adhering the top. I am right-handed and started in the upper right corner of the wall so I could have the most control of the right edge of each strip when matching up. I would recommend giving yourself about 4 inches of picture of waste at the top if your wall height can accomodate that, just in case your wall isn't totally square so you don't end up with a white upper corner on the left. My wall (minus baseboard, which I left in place) was 93", so I had plenty of inches to spare on the top and bottom. I wanted more of the trees and less of the grass, so I measured 4" down on the picture and drew a line with a similar-colored expo marker, creased it and placed that first where the ceiling met the wall, starting in the right corner of the strip.I was really worried about the adhesive working. Some reviewers said the mural came off and rolled down the wall later on. I did this yesterday on a semi-gloss painted drywall wall with subtle knock-down texture. I had painted about 2 years ago. We do live near Phoenix and have virually no humidity and don't smoke. I don't think I had to worry because this mural stuck really well. I would recommend a burnishing tool. I used a pink putty scraper, found here: 3M 357 Bondo Spreader, 3 Pack I didn't trim (I used a sharp utility knife) until I had 2 strips done, then I trimmed the first strip, etc.I don't know if my wall was out of level or the pictures were a tad off, but i did have to slightly stretch or back off from time to time to get the pattern to match. I would guess it was about a 1/2" overlap. Yes, I did have some puckers, I don't think it can be avoided unless you are a superhero. In retrospect, I think paper murals turn out neater, but for the money, this turned out just fine. The strips are forgiving in that you can, within reason, unstick and re-stick portions. The total time took me 3 hours, a ladder and a few cuss words. I don't think another person would have made the process quicker or better for me personally. Once you get your rythym it goes good. The scraper is helpful to get the corners sharp before you trim them. It's a beautiful scene, and given the choice I probably would have chosen this one again. The quality of the picture is great. Of course, if you put your nose to the wall it won't be as sharp as a regular portrait, but stand a foot away and it is very acceptable to me. This is a BIG picture. The colors are a bit darker than my screen showed. That's ok, but something to consider. So why 4 stars instead of 3? I was hoping for a mural that opened up the room. The darker colors of this one (for example, the ground looks golden in the pic but on the wall it is closer to an orange brown) seem to close the room in more, which frustrated me a bit. Also, because this wasn't an easy job I would have appreciated some detailed instructions to make it less painful.**Update: It has been a week or so now and the mural is still adhered the same. We are getting used to the scene and like it better now than in the beginning. I also want to note that the surface of the mural is a low sheen, almost matte finish, not shiney at all, so lights and window sun glare are not an issue, which is nice.***new update: about a month and the mural is still stuck the same. This is our high humidity time of the year and nothing is peeling down or bubbling.**** Still another update. Over a year and the mural hasn't budged. I like it even more; it's what I see when I pass the doorway in the hall and it makes me happy to look at this serene scene. I'm surprised I haven't gotten tired of it, but no. I wouldn't hesitate to order another one in the future.

TAKE MY MONEY
When my son said he wanted his bedroom to feel like he was sleeping in the forest, I really didn't know where to start, but my first amazon search populated this mural. I had my reservations about it, but its absolutely beautiful! The pictures don't do it justice. The panels are numbered, and I learned the hard way, that you NEED TO DO THEM IN ORDER. I initially thought it would be easier to start in the center, so the image lined up on the wall correctly, but the panels are designed to overlap slightly, and it will not look right if not done in numerical order. The panels stick great, but were not so sticky that they peeled off the paint if you had to pull it off, so there was room for error if you initially misplaced one, which was great. You should know that you will need at least 2 people -more if you have it- to apply these. Trimming them at the end was also very easy with a sharp box cutter. Keep in mind, that the material these are made from will stretch slightly if you pull too hard, or place them over a 'lump' like an electrical socket, so cut around those immediately after laying it down. My mom and I got this one up in about 45 minutes.

Better than expected.
I really liked how this product delivered instant gratification. You should use 2 people. If it's not lining up correctly and you need to adjust, it peels off and re-sticks really well. It is packaged and labeled well. As others mentioned, you need to leave extra space on top. We left about a 1/2 inch and by the time we were across there was a 1/2 inch gap. It didn't affect us because of how I painted the room, but it might matter for others. My husband also used some leftovers to cover the outlet plate. I am very happy with the purchase, and look forward to decorating my other daughter's room with a different design.

Love it
Easy to apply, easy to line up the pictures, definitely a 2 person job though. The directions were very helpful. We really like our accent wall.

A nightmare to install, but if you can get it, then it works
We just spent the last 6 hours installing 6 sheets. It's much harder than we thought. They really need to create and sell better installing systemStrangely, it seems some of the panels have stretched after they were manufactured, and so despite our best efforts, we could never get them to line up perfectly. Fortunately we bought a forest one which had blurry parts and lots of stick, so we could use those areas to cover up all of the extra cuts and misaligned areas.

Beautiful, mysterious, calming, but a little dark
Love the sense of quiet mystery this mural invokes! It is darker than I would have preferred, especially since I placed it on a hall wall! Still, it works because my office door faces the spot where the light shines through the trees in the image! I recommend placing in a reasonably well lit area. Or if you're like me and want to convey this mood, perhaps you could have a floor lamp or something similar shine a light right on the spot where the light shines through the trees. I think that would make it very dramatic and magical. I loved that it was a a light adhesive-based mural...it was easy to reposition until I got the alignment on the wall correct, mostly for the first panel or so.

Purchased 2 years ago, still looks great.
I love this mural. I put it up by myself in less than 2 hours with nothing more than a pair of scissors and a sturdy step stool. It was not hard to apply to the old, not square, painted-over wallpaper wall of my living room and it hasn't bubbled or fallen off in the 2 years it's been up. I was concerned that it might look kinda cheesy, but it adds great depth and color to the room. I've gotten lots of compliments on it and it makes me smile every time someone mentions it. It makes this tree-lover happy.
