I have done several shower renovations which required the inclusion of a curb the hard way. Previously, I fabricated a shower curb from various materials(water resistant wood or masonry materials). A traditional approach which took time. Vevor's ready made curb was a treat to work with. Made from "structural" (i.e solid, load bearing) Styrofoam wrapped with a fabric that is water-resistant which easily accepts/retains a coating of thin set. Using a hand saw the height and width of the original curb can be modified to fit the dimensions of your particular layout. Once the original curb has been modified anchoring it is easy peasy. A layer of thin set will anchor the curb securely in place. For all the reasons mentioned this item has become my curb substrate of choice. As a result it is pleasure to work with, a time saver and reasonably priced. One additional point. This curb copies the well-known Schleuter readymade shower curb BUT,IS MUCH MORE REASONABLY PRICED.

This one is solid in the center, the other older vevor was hollow.

The looks good and is wrapped in membrane. The strength and structure is significantly inferior to more expensive foam curbs. I’ll spend the extra money next time.

Product is as advertised and super sturdy. I had to cut a few inches off to fit my application and not only was it easy to cut with a hack saw but it also maintained its strength. For those DIYers doing the same at home remember that you still have to waterproof and add a mortar layer before tiling but with this as your structural support you will not have to worry about it failing on you.

Easy to cut to fit, light weight. Did not give it a 5 because the fabric layer really wasnt bonded well to the foam and the foam blocks spacers were not continuous, when i trimmed to length, there was no internal support at the trimmed end and i had to move and reglue a spacer.

This bar was 4 inches too long for what we needed. We purchased it knowing this and hoping we’d be able to easily cut it to the length we needed. It was a success! Super light weight material but durable.

Spent a long time tiling this bumper as per manufacturer's instructions. As the foam core is flexible and the grey liner is just glued on to the foam, the adhesive and grout just crumble and the tiles started to fall off after a week. Would not recommend if you want to tile over it
