Impressive for the money
I was very impressed with the performance of this little device for the money.Firstly, as some other reviewers have pointed out, the plug is a tight fit in the car cigarette lighter. I found that the only was I could insert it was to hold the two spring loaded contacts in as I pushed. It was a bit fiddly but I intend to leave the device in situ, so won't be too much of a problem for me.I found that 87.6 is a nice clear spot on the radio in my locality, so set the unit to that frequency, and it has been working fine. The volume goes up to 30, and I have found that I can hear a little bit of distortion when it is set over about 25 or 26, so I have left mine set at 25. Sound quality wise, it sounds pretty much like an FM radio station to me, so is fully acceptable. (Remember that FM radio stations use expensive audio processing to get a good sound, and this thing only costs £15 and is never going to sound quite as good). It is slightly worse in quality to a CD. I have not noticed any undue amount of hissing or humming. You are never going to get CD quality sound if you are playing mp3's via an FM transmitter, but this does as good a job as you can expect, especially considering the price. The device takes about 10 seconds to pair to my iphone 5s via blutooth, and works perfectly for making and receiving calls. It pairs every time I get in the car with no problems whatsoever encountered. I have left the device in situ in the car, and when I switch the ignition on, it starts playing the track it was playing when I switched it off, and 10 seconds later it tells me my phone is paired. For music, I have found that it works well from both a USB stick and a micro SD card. I have loaded a couple of thousand tracks onto a micro SD, in 5 separate folders, and the device allows me to play the music in each folder separately, which is great. All in all, one of the best uses I have found for £15 recently! It does make me wonder why you see so many idiots driving around holding a mobile phones to their ears, when for this kind of money you can have a hands free device that plugs in so never needs charging.

Easy alternative to replacing the head unit.
I have a car with a CD/Radio and no bluetooth, auxillary or wma/mp3 capability, I needed an easy upgrade! This is my second one of these devices, the first was almost identical other than having a goose neck (which put it right in the way and eventually broke). This model fits beautifully in the centre console without catching my sleeve every time I change gear.Set up is easy, connect up bluetooth, find an empty spot on the FM band, press the CH button and turn the volume dial until the frequencies match. Done.Sound quality is decent to good, I use an android music player on my phone with an option to autoplay on connecting to a Bluetooth audio device, within about twenty seconds (often much less) of turning on the ignition I have music, the CD player goes unused. I haven't tried USB or sd music. Using BT you don't get the track listing unfortunately, just the phone name, incoming calls are identified by number not caller name. hands free phone calls are clear and the person on the other end seems to be able to hear me okay.My old version of this had CH+ and CH- buttons, this has one CH button and a mode button that selects the input. Pressing the CH button then makes the volume dial change the transmitter frequency. This is good if you're sat by the side of the road, but too distracting if you're driving and find a station coming in on the frequency you're using. The old buttons were easy to use without taking your eyes off the road, to be honest I don't see the point of the volume control, I use the one on the stereo and I'll wager so do most other people.Basically, it's cheap, easy to fit and provides most of the functionality you'd get from replacing the head unit with a BT model for a fraction of the price and without having to inform your insurance company. You can't really go wrong.

Fantastic piece of kit which revitalises an old car sound system
This is a fantastic piece of kit, which gives any car radio so much more connectivity. It plugs into the car cigarette lighter. ( I found this to be the only potential flaw, it's a very tight fit in my 2002 Audi A4 cigarette lighter - others have reported this same problem)Tune your car radio to a free FM radio station, tune the FM transmitter to the same station. So the FM transmitter is sending everything to that station. Then your connectivity options are opened up to Bluetooth, AUX via 3.5mm included audio cable, TF card ( MicroSD card upto 32GB) or USB stick. The menu system is fairly basic. with only 4 buttons ( CH - Channel) , (M - Media), Forward and Back and the rotary dial with a push button, to turn on/off or answer/hang up mobile phone calls.Bluetooth use , you can stream music from your phone, or straight off the Internet via your mobile data connection.I've tested this with Amazon Music, Google Play Music, Youtube,TuneIn Radio and DS Audio.Google Map navigation works very well via bluetooth, just make sure the app is set to "Play Voice over bluetooth". I didn't have that set the first time....only my music would play via the car speakers and Navigation was coming only from the phone.Once I turned on the "Play Voice over Bluetooth" setting. Google navigation cuts in during music playback over the car speakers.Phone calls are great via bluetooth....the microphone on the FM transmitter pickups voice nice and clear.TF card use, I've copied a number of Albums in separate folders onto a 32GB Micro SD card and inserted it.The FM Transmitter can see all the folders and MP3 files within each folder. You can only go forward and back to each track in the album. You can use the Forward and Back buttons to select the folder/album you wish to play.It will only play tracks sequentially, so you can't pre-program any playlists. It has 2 USB ports that allow for charging mobile phones/tablets etc.Highly recommended purchase, at such a low price too.I was considering updating the Radio Head unit in my car to a newer one, with Bluetooth/USB and Aux. I no longer have to do that anymore. But this works great and will be ideal to use when hiring rental cars and allowing all the same connectivity with it, every car has a cigarette lighter and an FM radio.Flaws:The unit is a very tight fit in to my cigarette lighter. I thought it actually didn't fit. But after a good solid push into the cigarette lighter, it's all good. You can hear a slight radio hiss from the car speakers, when nothing is actually playing. But I think you get that with all FM transmitters anyway.
