Negative Reviews - Why ???
So I just got these Sony Wireless Earbuds a few hours ago.First I ordered these on Amazon Warehouse expecting a used pair. What arrived was a brand new sealed box. Amazing at nearly 100 pound off the retail price at a famous retail outlet. Very pleased with this.I was a bit spectical at first having read some of the negative reviews. However on first testing I paired them up with my Samsung A5 and listened to the sound. Wow, it is so balanced with a good dashing of bass, treble and vocal midrange. Soundstaging is nice with a good seperation of instruments. I own 3 sets of bluetooth headphones and these sound the best.I went for a twenty minute walk and there was no drop out or loss of signal. I have a smaller set of bluetooth earbuds and these can't be used outside as they constantly drop.Timing of the music was tremoundes. I think all the negative reviews are based on the source and hardware. A good android or iphone is most likely a must.I haven't tested the battery life yet. As for the noise cancelling I am not sure what to make of it.Verdict... Sound - Excellent. I am enjoying all my music.Noise Cancelling - Not sure what it doesBattery Life - If I get 3 hours I'd be happyWorth it - Yes for the price I paidLastly the battery case - Apparently get two more chargesWill also also update firmware soon once there fully charged using the Sony AppBtw. Don't bother with the equaliser on the app it's a waste of time* Update. Now had these for almost a week. I finding the noise cancelling annoying. It doesn't seem to do anything except cause the dreaded drop outs so I switch it off either using the app or pressing the left earbud.Battery Life - is indeed the advertised 3 hours and the case is great. No drop outs or loss of connection with the earbuds on sound priority on using the app and noise cancelling switched off.Sound seems to getting better as burn in takes place. I am lost in a beautiful textured musical landscape. Haven't heard any earbuds wired or wireless with such amazing clarity and depth like these Sonys.Just want to add one more thing. These are wireless earbuds so have limited battery capacity. If you want several hours of battery go and buy those with a wire like Beats or Jaybirds. They are all limited due to size and design. For me personally 3 hours is more than enough. But for sound alone these are fantastic. That's matters most to me. Thank you and I hope you find your perfect earbuds. So my final update. I just got some comply Audio Pro tips with Smartcore Technology. 3 pairs for a tenner on Amazon and they are just perfect. More bass, very very comfortable. Invest in Comply tips there worth it.

Ambitious and promising but ultimately flawed wireless headphones
Summary:These are ambitious headphones; combining truly wireless, active noise cancellation and a tiny form-factor. Ultimately they are flawed, bordering on unusable. However given the steady but significant improvements Sony have made to their other headphones (e.g. WH-1000XM range) it would be worth keeping an eye on future generations. The good:- sound quality is good compared to all other types of headphone, but excellent for truly wireless (better than Apple and Bose)- buds are very comfortable, almost imperceptible once they’re in- passive noise cancelling is good, the buds block out most surrounding noise at moderate listening volumes- buds are very light and stable in your ear, never felt that they would fall out even when trying to shake them out- charging case is handy for keeping them safe, stores them securely and keeps them chargedThe bad:- The connection between the buds is appalling. It was reasonably stable when stationary, but any movement (walking, bus, train) and the right (slave) bud repeatedly cuts out. At times they lost their connection entirely, the right bud turned itself off and had to be manually restarted- battery life is advertised at 3hrs which is already short compared with competitors’ buds, but rarely did it get past 2.5hrs. This was particularly noticeable when using AAC connection with iOS (required to make the most of the sound quality they are capable of producing)- active noise cancelling is no where near as effective as other (celebrated) Sony ANC products. In most situations I couldn’t tell the difference with ANC off or on. However passive noise cancelling is more than sufficient with appropriately-sized buds fitted- no quick charge, meaning the case takes three hours to full capacity. Given that Sony sre including USB-C on their other wireless headphones this feels like a missed opportunityConclusion:Do not buy! You will definitely be better off with current Bose or B&O equivalents, but might be worth avoiding truly wireless altogether until manufacturers are able to address some fundamental concerns around connection quality, sound quality and battery life
