Hi, how does the Scale side work? What are the blue dots?

Hi, unlike chords, scales are movable. The chart lets you practice all the scales in any key. The Blue note is the Root note of the scale. So lets look at the "Major" scale pattern on the chart. If you were to place this chart pattern with its Blue note of the E string at the 5th fret on your guitar (the A note), then you are practicing the scale of "A Major". If you now move that Blue root note over to the 3rd fret and play from there, you will now be playing the "G Major" scale. Another example: If you look at the "Blues" pattern on the chart. Imagine placing the Blue Root note of the diagram at the 7th Fret on your guitars low e string. Now your practicing the "B" Blues Scale. As shown from the examples above, just that one side of the chart lets you to practice 8 scales in any key on the guitar!

Quite frankly if the guitar is strung same order as the chart its probably OK The cords are only as shown for string order of E A D G B E. I f you have leftystrung opposite way you must take mit into account. According to my reading many left haded people simply learn it all and play a right hand guitar the same way as right hand anyway. Some even learn both ways. If you learn from beginner give it a try.
