Good product, could be cheaper.
Cost way more than I wanted to pay but cheaper one (half price) from eBay failed to arrive on time, so had to bite the bullet and buy off Prime to get brakes bled in time for wheel fitting and MOT. Its genuine Sealey at least (not sure if the cheaper ones are unbranded Sealey or copies) and it did job with minimum fuss. I had a vacuum issue on one bleed nipple but bled other 3 and clutch without issue and very fast (suggest having a spare nipple to hand as very cheap to replace and solved pressure issue). Of course the real bonus is being able to bleed the hydraulic system all on my own.At one point I wasn't paying enough attention, overfilled the reservoir and inhaled brake fluid into the vacuum cylinder, luckily its drainable via button on bottom and didn't do damage. Getting the tubes apart afterwards to wash out and fit back in case took a lot of effort and helping hand, but at least don't have to worry about them coming apart in use! Regardless, wear gloves as brake fluid is a major irritant and have a large and stable vessel at hand into which to empty reservoir (one that won't topple over if you knock it, don't ask me how I know! :-| ), you'll need to empty reservoir frequently, especially if doing a full fluid change. Also check your car manual for proper bleeding sequence as mine is opposite to included instructions.

Bled my troublesome brakes
After rebuilding my motorcycle brakes I spent hours trying to bleed them the old fashioned way, unsuccessfully. I actually thought I had done something wrong in the rebuild or had a leak, so I got this kit as a last resort. A few pumps with this and job done - the lever was rock solid again. Such a good kit and bit time saver. Good fitment and no air/fluid leaks. Superb.

Easy to use
Effective tool to bleed brakes. Easy to use, everything I needed came with the kit. The pump unit and collecting cup are not so large as to be cumbersome and so make it easy to handle and use whilst working on your own. The tubing fits well on the container and pump unit and I found I could pump the unit whilst placing my thumb over the end of the tube and it maintained the vacuum pressure very well. Care does need to be taken with the seal on the cup lid as it is prone to fall off when dismantling the unit to store. Excellent product especially at the price I paid which was less than £30 plus p+p. Would not hesitate to purchase this product again as it is ideal for my purposes.

the vacuum at first worked fine on the f l caliper but
Got the sealey vac tester to bleed the brakes on my car having tried the pressure method before with mixed results, the vacuum at first worked fine on the f l caliper but, the next in sequence r r was a complete failure, the sealey was losing vacuum as soon as i turned the bleed screw a quarter turn and no fluid was visible in the tube, so i tested the tool by placing my thumb over the pipe end then using the trigger to test the suction which was working ok, the problem was a slack thread, i used copper grease around the base of the screw which worked slightly at first but then soon failed , it may work ok if the pipes have some fluid in to start with but i was bleeding from dry which seemed to be asking too much of it, so resorted to a tube with one way valve which cost £5 and gave a much better result, I will keep the sealey vacuum tester because it has other uses and was not really at fault, i just found it wasnt the best method for bleeding brakes.

mediocre
the pump itself works fine. however there's a number of small issues with the entire kit.1) when you assemble it for the first time, theres practically no chance of removing the tubing from the vacuum pump brass barb without cutting the tubing. that is good, until you try to put it back in the box and it just wont fit.2) needs smaller tubing. i bought this specifically for the hydraulic clutch on my Civic and really needs the next size down to get a good fit on the bleed nipple. the included the black adapters are all too big so having to use the clear tubing directly on to the bleed nipple with some grease to aid sealing.each individual component is ok, but all together as a kit you'll likely find you can get it working on your car but not quite as perfect as it should be. a few quid more i'm sure they could of thrown in a wider variety of adapter pieces making it a far better product.

Not bad at all
It’s taken me 16 years to tumble to these. I’ve used it on both cars and bikes so far with varying success.Bikes were no problem at all and it sucked the fluid straight through no problems. Cars with combined disc/handbrake callipers (e.g. Lotus) have been a bit more tricky and I had to resort to the old fashioned pedal pump.I imagine that putting a dob of heavy grease around the top of the bleed nipple thread would make the vacuum more efficient as air gets drawn in to the vacuum chamber via this route but I wouldn’t want to contaminate my brake fluid as I race my bikes and I don’t need brake failure at the end of a long straight!

great method, good tool.
5 stars for 2 reasons, firstly for the principal (not this actual device). A mate recommended i use this method as i was struggling to get a good pedal on my track car. Vacuum bleeding fixed this and as such is one of the best value 'mods' ive ever purchased.I was looking at my previous bleeder thinking i should get a spare one of these. If it broke mid bleed i could be screbled.5mins later I was looking at said vacuum bleeder in bits next to my now full of air left rear caliper.Fortunatly this bleeder, its replacement, has a better assembly around where my other one failed. So even if it should fail there, its easily fixed.Because of the better design and the benefits this system can bring, its a 5 star from me.

Sorted my spongy rear brake
After having no joy in conventionally bleeding the rear brake on my motorcycle I decided to invest in one of these. Worked really well on the larger rear bleed nipple with supplied adaptors but not so well on the front where you need some narrow bore semi rigid tubing. As per one of the other reviewers I stripped the vacuum pump down and greased the seals and rod inside, it now has a smoother action. Overall well worth the money as a bike shop would bave charged me £50 labour for sorting it out.
