This is my first amazon review and am glad its on a product i really like
This is my first amazon review and am glad its on a product i really like.I have always been a fruit fanboy (apple) and this is the first time i have purchased a mobile outright. so was quite a big step.First off I would say to anyone wanting / wandering what phone to get next, stick with what you are use to unless you are really sure you want a change.Getting the phone out of the box and holding it in my hand i could feel that this device was made to be felt. It feels natural to hold and for someone who loves the 4 inch mobiles as I like one handed operation this wasn’t too much of a chore to get around it.When setting up the phone make sure you have time to spare as you might be bombarded with loads of updates. Although these are essential it was quite annoying as all I wanted to do was start to play.Settings setup was easy and straight forward specially if you have all your contacts and data on google. If you have information on other services such at dropbox and one drive, it works great but not as straight forward.Charging is great, performance is unbelievable for the cost of the phone, the screen is great and works great in direct sunshine. I have no regrets buying this phone. There is however one issue I do have, USB-c. I have had to go and buy more cables and chargers for the places I charge my phone. I understand this is the next new connection but I think LG could have held off for a year or so at lease.

LG Google Nexus 5X SIM-Free Unlocked Smartphone
This phone might be good for some things but it couldn't do what I wanted as some apps could not work on it. You get what you pay for obviously. I returned it and got something better.

A slow, buggy, laggy disappointment
I’ve had the 5x for 5 months now. It’s been a laggy and buggy disappointment following the sublime Nexus 5 (which is the best phone I’ve owned). This is my 5th Android smartphone after an HTC desire HD, Samsung Galaxy S3, Nexus 5, LG G3.***What I use it forEmails, social media, music, photos. No gaming and nothing demanding.***The good-Fingerprint scanner is effective and very well placed for an index finger. Works 99% of the time and you can use it to authenticate payments and there's APIs meaning 3rd party apps (e.g. lastpass) can use it to authenticate.-Stock android, meaning regular updates-Screen is fine, not outstanding but fine. Crisp enough text and ok colours (not eye popping but it won't be for the money)-Battery life is ok, still needs a midday charge but it’s fine. Par for the course.***The Bad-Lag. It’s just. So. Laggy. I don’t know whether it is short on RAM or processing power or what it is but this is not a smooth phone to use. It will stutter and splutter all the time when swiping. Something simple like getting up a share menu for a picture or whatever can take 1 or 2 seconds. It should be instant.-Apps will often take 5 seconds of white screen before loading. Simple stuff like Amazon or Twitter; not related to any app maker. 2-3 times a day the phone will become unresponsive and freeze for 10-20 seconds.-Camera - the camera will take 5-10 seconds to start up. It will speed up slightly after clearing data in app settings but will soon slow down again. Even when the camera app eventually loads pictures sometimes won’t take. When it eventually does take sometimes it won’t show up in google photos unless you force close and reopen google photos.-Bluetooth - I use bluetooth a lot to connect to bluetooth speakers and a bluetooth hands free kit for my motorcycle helmet. It’s unreliable (doesn't always connect and causes the phone to slow down further.

The Apps?
This phone is a very nice, fit in your pocket type of phone, sadly, the app programme is controled by a Google master programme and this is now out of date, so rendering your phone just a phone. This does not do any justice to the phone, a nice phone with no apps. Google may have a good phone for people with not much money but people buying this may take a dim view and buy another brand at a later date.

Really good phone
Bought this from Amazon Warehouse on the basis that the box would be "bashed up" a bit but that the phone and accessories were perfect.Well the package arrived and the box was as "un bashed " as possible. Other than a few stickers that Amazon had plastered over it the box was as new.Opening the box the phone was 99% as new but no protective covering of the screen as a 100% new phone would have. However although the box contained he charging plug it did not contain the charging cable. I complained to Amazon via Chat. They just said sorry and offered me £4 refund. I told them to get real as a charger and lead was £14.99 on their site. They quickly agreed to pay for that. So other than waiting a few extra days for the charger I am happy with the transaction, especially at the price paid. The phone itself is gorgeous and within minutes of switch on it had updated itself to Nougat. The phone is very light compared to my old Moto G. The screen is nice and bright with good colours. Sound quality whilst making calls is good. With just one days use my observation regarding the battery is that the phone is not power hungry. So if you are looking for an affordable premium Android phone, I can recommend this one.
