Good value. Strong magnets. Nicely finished with no sharp edges. Like the ones we used in school science lessons, only smaller. As well as being fun things to play around with, they have many potential uses e.g. to magnetise tools like screwdrivers by stroking them with a magnet. They can also be used to verify that stainless steel objects really are stainless steel because stainless steel is only very weakly attracted to a magnet, hardly at all, whereas ordinary steel is very strongly attracted to a magnet. I used them to check that some stainless steel bolts I bought off Amazon really were stainless steel. Remember to store them together side by side with the little keepers on the ends. This helps to preserve the strength of the magnets.

There are two magnets in the packets (It just appears that there is only one because they are connected together i’m in the packaging). They are quite small (see image with a pound coin for reference) but they are very strong.

Powerful enough for novelty and demonstration purposes, and sturdy enough for general use. Not as powerful as neodymium but they're not going to shatter if they're carelessly handled.

These are powerful magnet for there size..... but check out sizes before buying as I was still supprised by the small size

After reading the reviews and thinking I wished I had read them before making the purchase, I realise a lot of us were making the same mistake.....There are two magnets in the pack - they are stuck together and have end plates.Slide off end plates and separate magnets and you might find, like I did, they are surprising powerful magnets!!!

Contrary to some other reviews, I did receive two magnets but can see how they they are could look like one but they are separated by a thin plastic strip and only 'work' when separated. Perfect for magnetising tools etc

Strong magnets

I ordered this item in good faith because there were two items in the pack, when the item was delivered the pack only has one bar magnet in the package. the item is sealed and is clearly marked " 2 pack bar magnets" but only one is in the pack.

Magnetkraft ist mittel bis hoch, idealer Magnet für Outdoorzwecke (Notkompass). Klebt man ihn mit Gewebeband an eine Holzleiste, hat man eine prima Möglichkeit, Schrauben u.ä. vom Boden zu fischen.Da er erfreulicher Weise aus AlNiCo V ist, könnte man ihn theoretisch auch zum Modifizieren von Gitarrentonabnehmern verwenden (das probiere ich mal aus).Preis/Leistung paßt jedenfalls !

nicht sonderlich groß, aber stark genug für Experimente mit Eisenspänen, die Kanten sind etwas scharf, so dass die Plastikbox mit den Eisenspänen verkratzt wird beim Hin- und Herbewegen

Ich habe die Magnete gekauft, um meien Enkelinnen den Magnetismus praktisch vorzuführen.Die beiden handlichen Dinger sind schön stark und werden ihren Zweck erfüllen,

Etwas schwach auf der Brust, aber das ist mein Bier. Fuer Outdoor-Aktivitaeten braucht man allerdings ein anderes Kaliber. Naechstesmal denk ich dran.

Ich habe den Magneten als Anschauungsobjekt für den Unterricht gekauft. Er eignet sich sehr gut, da er ein starkes Magnetfeld aufbaut.
