Le Creuset Signature Enamelled Cast Iron Round Casserole Dish With Lid, 24 cm, 4.2 Litre, Cerise, 21177240602430

I have been using this over the past week and already love it. I have been cooking every meal in it as its so versatile. It can be used on the hob and then transferred to the oven and you can even put it in the fridge if you have leftovers. The enamel resists food sticking to it and I found it easy to clean after use with a none abrasive sponge. The cast iron absorbs the heat and distributes it evenly, so you don't end up with hot spots.I went for the 28cm and I'd say it was the ideal size for a family of 3-4. Its also the perfect size for a standard 60cm wide oven/fridge, with enough room either side to hold the handles. There is loads of room inside for sweating down onions etc and the tall sides stop any bits escaping when stirring. The quality is outstanding as is to be expected for this price point. The lid is a perfect fit and holds in the steam well. Its also a lot lighter than cheaper cast iron casserole dishes, while still being thick enough to retain heat. Overall the fit and finish is superb and it also looks fantastic in the matte black I chose.Overall I am over the moon with this casserole dish and can see myself using this for many years. Its expensive, but I feel its worth it for the quality of the product and the lifetime warranty.

I recently purchased the Le Creuset 28cm Dutch Oven, and I couldn’t be more impressed. The delivery was excellent, fast, secure, and the item was incredibly well-packaged, arriving in perfect condition. This Dutch oven is truly a universal piece of cookware. It’s perfect for everything from slow-cooked stews, curries, and soups to baking crusty bread or roasting a chicken. I’ve already used it to braise beef short ribs, make a rich tomato-based sauce, and even tried no-knead bread, each time, the results were fantastic. The even heat distribution and heat retention are unmatched. It works flawlessly on both the stovetop and in the oven, and the enamel interior means food doesn’t stick easily, making it ideal for browning meats before simmering. The 28cm size is generous enough to feed a family or meal prep in batches, without being unwieldy or difficult to handle. Care Tips:This pot does require a bit of mindful care to keep it in top condition. I always use wooden or silicone utensils to avoid damaging the enamel. It’s best to avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., cold water on a hot pot), and while it’s dishwasher safe, I find that hand washing preserves the finish much better in the long run. Avoid using harsh scourers or abrasive cleaners, warm soapy water and a soft sponge do the trick. If you’re serious about cooking or just want to invest in one pot that can do it all and last for years (even decades), I can’t recommend this enough. It’s not just functional, it’s beautiful, too. An absolute staple in my kitchen. Why did you choose this product over others?:The reputation of the brand speaks for itself, versatile build and cooking quality and guaranteed to last a lifetime

It is better in every aspect than the unbranded one I had before, it's also a "feel good" item. The capacity 3.2L is suitable for about 1.2kg meat in either Beef bourguignon or lamb meatballs koftas in tomato sauce, i.e. one or two meals depending on the size of the family. It is slightly lighter than the old one I had, the handles are more comfortable, and iron under the enamel seems to have some coating, or it can be a fancy alloy - it is visible at the upper edge. It holds heat so well, that it can be used on the hob rather than in the oven, just keep the heat at a low setting and let time do the job. The bottom of the pan is just under 18cm or 7'' in diameter, i.e. for the medium hob ring, while the advertised 22cm is its top.I think, the 4L version might be a little more versatile.Product: Le Creuset Signature Enamelled Cast Iron Round Casserole Dish With Lid, 22 cm, 3.3 Litre

I was always in love with Le Creuset because of the the quality. Yes, it's expensive, but as my mother always said: I am not wealthy enough to buy cheap. Le Creuset is an investment for life. I am not only a hardcore foodie (travelling around the world to eat at the most exciting restaurants), I also work with top chefs as their international PR (my clients are worldwide). So food means a lot to me! I bought this piece for cooking - on a stove and in the oven. I liked the fact that it can be used for both and that it has an amazing heat distribution, is durable and beautiful. But then a month ago I started also baking my own bread. I got obsessed with bread making (it relaxes and it is very rewarding when you see your results) and one of the reasons my results are so good, is this casserole! You need to keep the humidity in the bread when baking, and a very high heath. And this one is an ideal piece for great results. When my daughter moves on her own, this will be the gift she will receive for me. This says it all!

Perfect transaction many thanks

As expected, a well crafted casserole dish which is a pleasure to use. Cleans up like new and cooks without any hotspots unlike the cheap generic copy cat dishes used in the past. The only oversight from my side is the weight. The 28cm dish bought here is quite heavy so storing cooked foods in the fridge overnight needs a bit of planning to avoid storing at height or placing too much pressure on glass shelves. Easy solved with a bit of rearranging. Would definitely recommend as 100% worth every penny.

We have used these pans for over 30 years and have finally started to replace our volcanic orange pans, not because they have worn out, but having spent a small fortune on a new kitchen, we felt that the existing pans did not match and therefore as the intenral lining were starting to deteriorate on our more regularly used pans, we felt that it was time to change them for pans which match our new kitchen colour scheme. We intend to still use the original larger pots as they are perfectly serviceable, but the 20 cm, 22cm and frying pans are going to be offered to our local charity shop which will secure a good price for our well used, but durable and very serviceable pans.So how do we use them? We have an AGA, which we use for around 8 months of the year and for the remaining 4 months, we use an induction hob and a fan heated electric oven. In and on types of cooker, these pans provide an outstanding cooking utensil. This new version has only marginally changed. The fabric is still cast iron, the enamel is durable (our original pans are testament to this) in every way they are the same with the subtle exception that the handles are larger, allowing for the pan to be lifted with thicker oven gloves and the knob on the lid is now stainless steel, replacing the bakelite/vulcanite on our original pans. One last thing, we have purchased the teal variant and find that this colour is particularly pleasing on the eye - shame that we couldn't just get the originals re-enamelled1

I have collected quite a range of Le Creuset gear. Its all good quality but the quality is sometimes non essential given the cost e.g. a super solid heavy pot is not really needed to boil an egg, warm milk or cook veg. Any pot will do for that, why take the time and energy to heat through the heavy Creuset pot ?But this casserole is one of those buy once buy well and it lasts forever things , a superb large pot for long term simmering on a low gas either on the hob or in the oven. It retain’s heat and (along with a Le Creuset silicon mat https://www.amazon.co.uk/Creuset-Silicone-Cool-Tool-20-5/dp/B004BKIG5Q/ref=sr_1_1) can also be used as a serving dish on the table for stews, casseroles, curries etc. The only weak possible point I can see is the handle on the lid - but these are replaceable in any case. The other Le Cresuet item I think is excellent is the solid one piece griddle pan. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Creuset-20193260900422-Signature-Griddle-Pan-26/dp/B00HYXO7J6/ref=sr_1_13 I have two so I can do 4 steaks at a time. (A square one may fit steaks better) I can’t see how these won’t last forever. MIne have been going near on 20 years so far and all good !

Zoals Le Creuset is, om lang plezier van te hebben.

The perfect Le Creuset cast iron pot for baking beautiful loaves of sourdough bread. Just the right weight in being not too heavy. And beautifully made. Thank you for the excellent deal and getting it to us intact and quickly, too.

Muito feliz com minha primeira lê creuset

Panela maravilhosa

OH, I WANTED SO BAD TO LOVE THIS THING VERY, VERY MUCH. It is absolutely perfect, except it's too heavy for me. I am a petite old lady, so it's too much for me to handle, weightwise. I wanted to cry, having to turn around and send it right back, but meanwhile, I'm waiting for a smaller version of this, it is arriving today, yay!!!I have always believed in the adage, you get what you pay for, most of the time. With Le Creuset this is absolutely true. They've been in business a hundred years, and multi-generational families have continued to work there since 1925, because it's a good, solid company to work for.You can't go wrong with Le Creuset, especially if you take really good care of it. Read the instruction manual that comes with it. It is in many different languages. Never heat it above medium, to avoid staining the sand colored enamel inside. If you do stain it, soak it in hot sudsy water during dinner, then later, pour out the soaking water, make a baking soda paste with baking soda and water and it'll come right off. And if it STILL sticks or stains, make a new paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, and slather it all over the stain. Leave it to sit and go watch a movie or something. It should come off with a soft sponge at that point. Never use anything that'll scrape this cookware, and it'll last for generations. No steel wool, and no metal utensils; wood or silicone. The things you learn from the instruction manual, holy smokes!! According to the manual, it can be put in the freezer!! 😲 it can also be put in the fridge because there are no raw iron parts. A lot of people think that the rim and lid have raw cast iron and they season it. You don't ever want to season Le Creuset. That's not raw cast iron exposed. It's a matte grey coat that they spray on the raw cast iron to prime it before they apply the enamel coatings and melt it in an extremely hot crucible. Le Creuset means The Crucible in French. If you go to the factory, you'll see that the crucible is actually shaped like a big sideways C! Which is in their logo!IT HOLDS COLD TEMPERATURE AS EASILY AS IT HOLDS HOT TEMPERATURE!You can fill it up with potato salad or any other cold dish, and put it in the fridge overnight, and then you can take it to a barbecue the next day. Keep it well lidded, perhaps even sitting in a larger container of ice if you're going to be there awhile.Speaking of ice, it can actually be used as an ice bucket, believe it or not! When you look at all the things Le Creuset can do, you realise what a bargain you get when you actually buy it. I don't think the knockoffs can do the same thing, I could be wrong, because I don't know very much about them. I only know what people say about them, and from what I understand they don't really last. But you certainly can't do any cold treatment with raw cast iron, and you definitely can't sit it in the fridge or the freezer for hours and hours on end.It is the ABSOLUTE VERY BEST cookware to use for no oil cooking. My head was turned for about five minutes to the latest trend, beginning with a C and ending with a y... 🤔, because of the high reviews. But then I saw the horror stories on the other side of that. They were REALLY bad, considering that people paid Le Creuset prices for a cheap, thin product that looked beautiful as long as you didn't use it. I had purchased a brand new set of every piece they had, and then paid dearly to send it all right back. Somewhat expensive lesson to pay but whatever. This is the first time in my life I've ever sent any Le Creuset back. And it's only because of the weight. It's just not a realistic choice for me. I told my husband I don't know how anybody can cook with the15.5 qt quart size!! 😲 If you are strong enough to wield a full pot of food in the 7.5 quart, and love plenty of room for mixing and stirring, then this is the pot for you. I couldn't even handle it empty! My hubs is taking it back for me. Hopefully, my next Le Creuset pot will be much easier to handle.
