Great value for this pergola!
We love it!Had done a bunch of checking but the next-cheapest pergola was $7500 for the same size.Got the 12x16 with the screens.Assembly is tricky, as is expected for this behemoth, but the parts fit great and the materials are of good quality. If you do things right, and you received your boxes undamaged, things should generally fit perfectly. Someone posted here they could do it a second time with their wife in 2 hrs. Total lies. If you know what you are doing, assembling could easily take 5 hrs for two people, maybe even more.Tips;- The part that takes the longest time is ensuring that the poles are placed perfectly before anchoring them in. What worked for us: we got the screens in BEFORE we anchored the posts down. Making sure we marked the holes in case the structure moves.- We also used string, measured distances and spirit rule to check the poles were perpendicular and properly distanced.- We watched the video here multiple times.- After you put together the roofing structure, you may need to loosen some nuts so that the post screw holes line up perfectly with the roof structure, before tightening up everything again- Power tools (cordless drill) will make things go much fasterIt’s been 3 weeks so far and we reckon we’ve spent more time in our backyard than the last 3 months. Solid construction so far, but don’t try to do pull ups on it, that would likely degrade it over time. Louvers work well together, the screen is remarkably effective at reducing the heat of direct sun while letting light in, and works as a great windbreaker at night. Well worth it so far. Will update this every 6-12 months on the status.
