Great as a butter knife
Was brought up at home (I’m now 60) using a Prestige palette knife for spreading butter on our bread but I have never been able to find one of these knives for myself in the shops. Individual butter knives are available but I find these too small, inflexible and not fit for purpose so I was pleased when I saw this. Not as elegant as the Prestige one as the handle is a bit bulky and not as rounded but I’m still very happy with it and use it every single day. So much easier for spreading butter, jam, buttercream etc than a normal knife. Love it.

A replacement butter knife
I bought this to replace a Prestige butter knife which snapped after 54 years! It seemed impossible to buy a similar knife in any kitchen shop and this one seemed the nearest in looks. The blade is wider and isn't as flexible as my original one but it will suffice. I don't know why they don't make ones like the old one I had as it was such a useful knife.

Happy to spread the word
I’m pleased with this knife as a butter spreader. As a whim I wanted something a little like a palette knife I could use as a spreader for sandwiches, etc. This fitted the bill perfectly for me. The nice 1”wide 4” long blade if fairly firm with a slight right amount of flex which seems to make spreading easier. On first use the handle seemed untreated and the wood became wet when washed. So I gave it a liberal coating of olive oil. Once that had dried in and I’d given it a quick buff it came up a with a nice rosewood colour. I wouldn’t put it in a dishwasher but a quick wipe and dry and it’s as good as new again.

This was perfect to use as a butter knife, and easy enough to apply smooth layers.
This wooden handle Spatula was perfect for what I needed it for. It was intended to be use as a spreader (or butter knife) to best apply chocolate to the body for a easter photoshoot and it worked like a charm. Had no issues whatsoever, there is a little trick in how to base proper layers on but if your patient and apply enough pressure when needed you'll be fine and get the jist of it. Here are some photos which I hope Amazon will allow. Showing the inspiration for the photo I took as well.

The wooden part is useless Product only tested on dairy based spreads
2.5 would be a more accurate starage.Metal section of this knife is very effective, spreads butter in a way a plaster would be proud. A smooth, concise and even layer of your chosen dairy product is swiftly and moderately dispatched to your surface of choice. The wooden part is uselessProduct only tested on dairy based spreads, as all other based spreads are the work of lucifer

GOOD PRODUCT BUT JUST A BIT TOO BIG FOR A BUTTER KNIFE
Yes, I know it's advertised as a palette knife, but I bought it to use as a butter knife as the dimensions were similar to a butter knife I currently own. It works but is a bit clumsy.
