Better than other IR receivers
I have a DirecTV receiver, Sony Blu Ray player N460 (I think), Bose 2.1 Cinemate system, and a Kinovo HDMI 4x2 switch. I purchased the Logitech Harmony One universal remote to make it easier for my wife to switch between Listening to Music to Watching TV to Watching a Movie. I purchased the Logitech IR repeater kit to go with my universal remote and to my disappointment, and contrary to all the reviews, the repeater kit was not as reliable as it said it was. The Logitech IR receiver would never work reliably with the DirecTV or the Kinovo HDMI switch, and I know it wasn't an issue with the Universal Remote's because it had the ability to be programed to work directly with those units and when pointed directly at those units, they would interact. It would sometimes work with the Sony Blu Ray player and Bose Cinemate system. After doing my research on why it may not work with those units, and after reading the reviews and details of this product, I decided I should try this as this was a dual frequency IR repeater, which may solve my problem... and it DEFINITELY solved my problem. I must say I am amazed at how easily the IR receiver grabs a signal... i wouldn't even have to point it at the receiver and it would still receive the signal (a blue light flashes every time it receives a signal... good thing too so you know your volume is actually increasing/decreasing when the receiver is hidden in a media cabinet).Let me also say, that these are amazingly simple to set up and once properly set up, they are surprisingly accurate... then again, it's not too hard to beat the Logitech IR repeater. I have had no problems whatsoever trying to get them to work and the signal transmission is instantaneous. You do have to set the transmitters directly on top of the IR intake on your devices, but that was expected. I am so extremely satisfied with this and will be recommending it to everyone I know who needs something like this.I have two suggestions:1) I would suggest, if possible, to make the IR receiver unit that mounts to the TV smaller... It is currently about the size of a large paperclip and the thickness of a pencil... if the receiver unit could be thinner or smaller it would be much more aesthetically pleasing. Maybe if they could shrink it to the size of a small paperclip (without of course inhibiting the unit's ability to receive signals), it wouldn't be as noticeable... especially since most TVs are beginning to shrink/eliminate their bezels.2) Include some sort of cable organization kit with the cables as they can become tangled very easily in the media cabinet. I used cable ties and adhesive cable tie holders, but there are definitely better ways to go about this. They work fine, but they can still get tangled quite easily. Also, I really appreciated that they provided extra adhesive backings for each of the repeaters and receiver. Very helpful if you decide you want to move it them to different locations.

Perfect-ish
Intent of product: I purchased a 65" tv and then a nice tv stand with dark tinted glass. Moved DVR/Blu-ray player inside the glass and tada...the remotes didn't work through the glass. Purchased this to solve the issue.Pros:---It worked (sounds simple but you never know - [Service Electric CableVision = cable provider box])---No giant adapter block (thank god because I really didn't have anywhere to put it)---Has 4 total IR's in groups of 2 (each string of 2 is separated back far enough to run only 1 to your appliance and run the other half to a completely different section (below/above is ideal).)-To my surprise my DVR and Cable box combo has 2 different IR's! grhh...but this product was easy to group them cause they run 2 together :)---Simple install (almost to simple to even mention this...its obvious and I didn't even think to look at instructions until I was throwing the plastic wrap away haha).---Blue blinking light on receiver is very small, does not light up a room or draw attention to itself.---Sticky stuff ont he flashers seemed to be very sticky (versus what other people said-maybe don't touch the sticky stuff before install?-overall good experience with it)---Wife approved (in fact when I asked what do you think she didn't even notice I wired it lol).---I imagine that you could extend its length very easily with a 3.5mm extension (common size)for all you (hide my crap in another room) kind of people. -And if your going through walls...no adapter block...you will love it.Cons:---You have to perfectly match up the flashers to the IR receiver sensor, so much so, that I needed to put 2 on my DVR/Cable box combo unit even with the sensors right next to each other.---Unsure about how many times you can split the line for more IR's to accommodate additional appliances...because this doesn't have an adapter block, with like 16 ports, you would have to split off a splitter!?! Doable I'm sure for more that 4 items but who has 5 items? You need to condense if so, its 2012. (almost 2013)---Does not come with a robot to install itself while i sit on the sofa and watch footballAKA: Perfect for what i needed.

Reliable and discreet IR solution
This is a nice little setup. I originally was using the Harmony 900 with RF to control all my components. I recently changed my setup so that IR would be a better and faster connection for input than RF. I decided to buy this bundle and it works great. Everything is plug and play and the kit comes with 3M foam stickers to attach the receiver and all the relays. Even comes with extra stickers in the event that you need them (which I did). I attached the receiver to the upper right of my tv's bezel and used black electrical tape to secure the wire on the back of the tv so that I could guide it down to my tv stand out of sight. Super configurable options if you need to add extra relays. I ended up going with three to support my devices (AppleTV, cable box, and blu-ray player). Will add an additional relay if/when I find a sound solution that is ideal for my setup. The only thing that might bother you is the receiver always flashes with a blue light when any input is detected. This helps you know that the input was received but can be distracting to some folks. Anyway, purchase this with confidence!
