The aloe vera plants are grown in the region of Puglia in Southern Italy. There, the gel is hand extracted from the aloe vera leaves when the plants are 3 to 4 years old. To ensure purity, the leaves are washed in mineral salts to remove any bacteria and the gel is hand extracted within two hours of picking, to retain all of this amazing plant's properties.
