We have a Breville Barista Touch at home. To make a consistent-tasting espresso shot, you need to be able to tamp the puck uniformly every time. This tool helps tremendously in trying to do so. By making fine adjustment to the tool, I am able to set it to the exact tamping level that I want on my portafilter. This turned out to be much better and predictable than using a manual tamper. With that done and an "Espresso Tamping Station", I am able to make a perfect puck everytime. All that cost me less than $50. I'd call that a worthy investment.

It's solid, has a good polished finish, and easy to adjust the depth. It works as described. So far, I'm satisfied with the product.

This tamper is nice and solid with a pretty simple design. It’s easy to use and takes minimal time to adjust. I use a wire distribution tool, therefor the distribution side of this tamper doesn’t get used much, although I have used that side a few times and it does seem to work as advertised. I primarily wanted it for the perfectly flat tamping that the other side provides. This thing is mirror polished so your grounds are flat and smooth, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this one is great.

This leveler made the difference on my pulls. Just fluff the grounds, spin the leveler till you feel it (or hear it) rubbing the portafilter, then pull your shot.

I used this tamper with my Breville Infuser, and it fit the portafilter nicely. However, it's not deep enough to fit the double shot filter basket. I used 15.5 grams of coffee for reference. While the tamper distributed the grounds adequately, I still felt the need to use a stock tamper.The fit and finish on the unit I received showed misalignment. I tried to show it in one of the pictures I attached. I also found it difficult to use both sides without adjusting the height of the tamper during use.Overall, I'd recommend this only for those using the single shot portafilter. The materials and weight are nice.

My problem while tamping is evenness. With this tool, I've been brewing perfect shots. I love this tool!

Love the distribution tool easy to use and helps pull the perfect shot. The only reason it’s not a 5 star review is because the palm tamper doesn’t really do the job. I have adjusted the depth but it doesn’t really compact the puck. The depth adjustment is also very intuitive.
