Brabantia 109843 Sort & Go Recycling Bin, Plastic, 16 L - Mint Green

We use the 12L bin as a compost caddy, i.e. to temporarily store compostable kitchen waste before taking out to the garden. We found the usual size of compost caddy a bit on the small size as we eat a lot of fruit and veg and also make fresh juices. We were worried that the 12L bin might be a little on the large size for this but you don't HAVE to fill it right to the top and even if you do it's not too heavy and the handle is more than up to the task of carrying it out. Worries unfounded, the size is perfect.The bin is made of a quality plastic with a matt/satin finish and looks very nice in the pastel blue colour. The lid easily lilfts completely off and the Brabantia 12L liners fit perfectly inside (a few of these are included with the bin). There is an option to mount it on the wall with the included bracket. This looks very sturdy and functional, but I can't comment fully as we had nowhere suitable to mount it so it just sits on the floor where the last caddy once sat.In short, very happy with the purchase and glad we chose Brabantia.

We got this as it took us too long to fill a large bin and we just ended up having flies everywhere. So we decided to change for a smaller bin (16 litres). We looked at many high tech sort of bins, with sensory opening etc, but they were too expensive so we went for this Brabantia one and, honestly, I’m much happier with this little bin. It’s sturdy, looks nice, feels good quality, easy to change the bag, hangs nicely from a little cabinet door that opens, making it easy and accessible rather than just on the floor. Also good to just remove it, carry it closer to the sink whilst washing and then placing back in the cabinet.Only issue is that we couldn’t get the screws from the hanging piece to fit properly, so the piece swings a bit, but once we perch the bin on it it stays well put so not a huge issue.

Having looked at numerous plastic bins,the reviews were not great.I have a Brabantia Bread Bin and so to get another of their products,was the only way forward.They have a fitting to the reverse,so you can fit them to the wall,or like here to the cupboard doors under the sink,these are 12 litres and you get a few Brabantia bin bags with each bin,that fit 10-12 litre bins. This size is ideal for two people and easily lifts off the door,the bags don't sag as you fold them over the side and then replace the lid.Good Job,one colour for Recycle and one for non.We aim to get another brabantia to keep in the middle for food waste to compost.

Big capacity, holding my council's bags. Looks nice. Flat lid and base so can stack. Good eco credentials on cradle to cradle. Decent warranty.But it's a bit flimsy v Addis and doesn't fit together as well. Nor is it easy to clean. My brabantia rotary fairer is bullet proof. And very functional. It's a surprise that this is style and some functionality, rather than the complete package. I also have the larger bins and the same is true of them.

An excellent bin and just what I wanted. However, I have rated it as only 4 star because the Brabantia PerfectFit bin liners that are made to fit this bin are ridiculously overpriced. The Amazon price for this bin has risen from £17 to £21.47 since I bought it. Although not a pedal operated bin (which I did not want, as I do not have it on the floor), the lid is very easy to open and as it opens to just over vertical, it stays up when opened. I use it for fruit & vegetable peelings and the PerfectFit bin liner stays in position when the bin is emptied (unlike my old bin, which used generic bin liners, that were no a perfect fit and the bin liner would fall out and invert itself when emptied, so very messy), so it is easy and not too messy to empty.

I love these bins, at last I've found the perfect bin. There's no mechanical bits on it to get broken or food stuck in it. The lid hides the Perfect fit bags ( which are a bit pricey). They are really neat and compact, but fit alot in. I have bought these bins in all sizes for both waste and recycling. They have a useful handle to carry it if needed. Somebody has really thought about this when designing it. I hope they start making them in more colours. I know it's a little sad to say, but I love my bin 😊

Elegant design, and the fit & finish are excellent.The swing-up lid unit also lifts off the bottom storage bin for easy cleaning of both.The handle is conveniently attached to the bottom storage bin, not to the lid jnkt, so you can leave the lid indoors while you carry the storage bin to empty it in your recycle/compost container.The surfaces are easy to clean and the unit is inconspicuous.We have the smallest size which works well for us because we prefer to empty it almost every day.You might prefer the larger size if you want to wait several days before having to empty it.Either way, with the lid down there are no noticeable odors and insects cannot get it.

Our family is enjoying this lovely little green sturdy bin. It’s easy on the eyes which is helpful since we always leave it on our kitchen counter. It seems to be made of good quality materials. We take our compost out every 1-3 days so it’s the perfect size for us. It hasn’t fallen over and we appreciate that we can’t smell anything when the lid is closed. Would buy this again, highly recommend.

UPDATE I eventually found a way to contact customer service, and after a little back and forth they sent me the bracket. The bracket was simple to install with three screws on the inside of my cupboard, and I now have the perfect little compost bucket hidden away, but easy to access right below the sink. The bucket just lifts off so I can sit it on the counter while cooking and then hide it away when I’m done. I wish the bracket came with a stick-on option, so I didn’t have to put holes in my cabinet door, but that’s just a minor preference. It’s a little on the expensive side, but that’s par for the course for these things.—-I want to like this bin as it's the perfect size for my needs; however, I bought it with the intention of mounting inside my kitchen cupboard with the "bracket included" described in the product description (pic). There is no bracket included, and the packaging indicates that the bracket is not included. Also, I can't find an option to purchase the bracket separately. Without the ability to hang this, it's just a very expensive plastic bin.

Simple. Elegant. Functional. Have several various types of this brand in my home. Love love love that they are made in Belgium.
