I bought this item as a backup radio for the bigger and fancier radio I ordered, just in case there were issues with the big radio, and I'm so glad I did! For being a little pocket radio, this little guy is perfect for my intended use! I have already taken it outside and hung it on my garden cart. The sound really carries in my yard so I didn't even have to turn the volume to max! the sound is great and easy to find stations. I then used it in the house while cleaning and it fits right inside my yoga pants pocket. I didn't even have to stretch the antenna all the way up for it to get a clear signal. I love this little radio. And the price is amazing! Couldn't be happier.

It does work. The volume is not very loud... kinda low volume even when turned all the way up. Reception is OK for being what it is. I like the red color. It works well enough to throw in my tackle box for now.UPDATE: Customer service reached out and sent a silver radio to replace the red radio. I gave the replacement to my grandson and kept the red radio in my tackle box... it seems like the volume is a bit better than when I first tried it out of the box... maybe needed to break-in or something. Anyway, both the red and silver moldles seem to be worth the $9 price tag... okay radio and great customer service.

Lightweight when walking.

I Love this little radio. It's very small and light, it picks up a lot of radio stations, the speaker is surprisingly loud and it has a sturdy antenna. Great size to pack in backpack or hang in tent. Good old fashioned entertainement all you need is 2 AA batteries and your set!

Speaker is weak and tinny sounding. Otherwise, I like it.

But the battery compartment was too hard to open. I finally gave up on trying to slide it, and got my trusty letter opener and pried it open from the bottom edge. Difficulty that is completely unacceptable in a product. I don’t care how cheap it is, I’ve run into this before with nicer products.After using it for the first time, I have to say the reception is mediocre. I had a radio like this one (Grunig) and I had to fiddle with the tuning to get the signal clear. This one is hard to get the station I want. With the antenna up. Finally found the “sweet spot” where I placed the radio to get a better signal. Lots more fine tuning to get this station to come in. Acceptable, you get what you pay for.

This radio does not hold AM reception so it is not for me. I have tried all suggestions to improve reception with no luck. Even FM reception is terrible,.
